Personally I think that David Quantick is the worst thing ever to have happened to Word Magazine so I shall have to disagree. He is typical of that snide, under-impressed, looking-down-my-nose set who turn up on TV clips shows to pass comment on some cultural event. He's probably the only thing i'd change about the magazine.

But he is, or was, by his own admission, an uber fan, surely it is harder for them to accept that one of their own personal idols has "lost it". Irrespective of his usual form on the kind of telly that you mention (and it's a fair point), a review of the kind he did I think has to be taken with some seriousness, despite his usual cynical and cooler-than-thou posturing.
I think there is quite a lot of fawning in the magazine, (with the notable and credit worthy review of the latest Eagles album by DH)- it makes a refreshing and welcome change to hear a voice that is unafraid to tackle the decline of what appears to be a mag favourite.
You can probably tell I think Morrisey was past it 20 years ago, and has been occupying far too much of my brain space uninvited.

I've just listened to the whole of Dig Lazarus Dig here http://www.myspace.com/nickcaveandthebadseeds and think its rather good. I thinks it's only available for streaming this week.

Have listened some more and have found it rather excellent. Must have had a bad day or two.
