Kraftwerk, 1971 - power trio!

el hombre malo's picture

From the splendid Dangerous Minds website-

Seldom-seen footage of the short-lived Krautrock “power trio” iteration of Kraftwerk consisting of Florian Schneider, Michael Rother and Klaus Dinger that existed ONLY briefly when Ralf Hütter left the group to study architecture in 1971.

Brilliant!

That was excellent. I can't believe how little it's dated. It could have been released by one of the 1990s post rock bands.

Thank you, El Hombre...

Very nice indeed and a fine start to the weekend! (I was listening to some early Cluster last night - not a million miles from this. I remember seeing some other footage of this lineup recently too, via that site that had the ELP Love Beach/Velvet Underground and Nico chart someone linked to in another recent blog post.)

The line-up above gave us Neu!, but Kraftwerk 1 and 2 and Ralf & Florian are also fantastic albums; even if utterly unidentifiable from their later guise. Zum Beispiel - Strom:

Krautrocktastic

Thanks for posting that.

I can get Westdeutscher Rundfunk (WDR) on my TV and I can assure you, there's never anything as good as that on.
