I Hope

He goes easy on the weird heavyhanded archive footage projected on to buildings etc.

It will include

lots of archive news footage and clips of Laurence Olivier doing Shakespeare. And, as much as I enjoyed it overall, if the Dr. Feelgood doc is anything to go by, about 30 minutes of waffle before you get to hear a bit of music!

Very harsh ...

... I thought 'Oil City Confidential' was one of the best music/band films I've ever seen. If you just want to see Dr F in their pomp there's other DVD's.

It was extremely enjoyable

But all the intercut archive footage from movies grates after a while. Was the same in the Ray Davies doc he did.

The beauty of The Word site

is that I can aimlessly post Kink related material on thread after thread...

Ask The Massive

A few years ago I saw an amazing evening of Kinks footage at the NFT/BFI in that London. I recall there was a live in-studio BBC gig, which I've seen bits repeated since; there was a Live At The Rainbow gig, which was fascinating (audience very well behaved between songs) but there was another documentary shown which I'd love to know the name of. It was from Muswell Hillbilly era and involved Ray being interviewed in and around Archway as they knocked down various buildings behind him. There was one scene where he was lamenting how the Archway Tavern was now in the middle of a road system and dwarfed by the Archway Tower - I'd love to see the whole thing again. Anyone know what it was?
