Kevin Coyne reissues

masked tortilla's picture

Can I recommend that you all go out and immediately buy Kevin Coyne's reissued Marjorie Razorblade LP, along with the superb new 4 disc compliation I Want My Crown?

Those unfamiliar with Coyne's work will be startled and entranced. It's a challenging listen, but these reissues are not before time - Britain's last blues man!

Then maybe EMI will revisit their decision to limit the other reissues to download only.

And I don't think you'll get them

Record companies are very keen to sell you their old music but the decline in retail outlets - and the fact that most material has already been re-releaased in one form or another - means that they're having to reconsider the form that they sell them in. Universal have started a download service called Lost Tunes which makes available all kinds of stuff that's just too marginal for them to justifying getting it manufactured. I'm sure other companies will do the same thing.
