Ke$ha - Does she mean us?
I don't really get Lady Gaga, but on the other hand, I have to say that I am developing a soft spot for Ke$ha. Heard a few bars of a song and it was enough to wet my appetite. A quick consultation of the online Bluffer's Guide to the Galaxy (aka Wikipedia), reveals she seems to be a punk version of Britney. Not only do I like her songs, which - to borrow a Super Hans simile - are as moreish as crack, I like her whole attitude/image. I admit, it does help that she hasn't been bashed by the ugly stick and I know it is all manufactured, but how entertaining is this?
Maybe I should shut up, I fit the age-profile she is addressing in the song. Anyone got any opinions on her? I reckon, by the end of the year, she is going to be the pop-star of 2010.

Horses for Courses
I've only heard the one song by her, but I find it impossibly irritating.
Lady Gaga, on the other hand, is fantastic. Totally barking.
Sorry
I'm one of those she's taking a shot at I suppose but that's awful
Respeck!
ur elders gurl. Or whatever the current verbiage dictates.
First of the Lady GaGa "me-too" brigade
Expect plenty more by the end of the year.
I like Kesha's (oh alright, Ke$ha's) "Tik Tok" track, mostly the 'oh, oh, oh-ohhh' hook, but went completely off her when I saw the video, which saw her come across as staggeringly contrived, which GaGa herself, however hatstand, always manages to avoid.
I first
gave respect to Ke$ha when I read that her favourite album was Camembert Electrique.
I may have made that up.
If you like Kesha you might also like the original:
That first came out in 2006.
It's a well known theory amongst 'the kids' that Kesha has taken advantage of the (admittedly ridiculous) 4 year timespan that UFFIE has taken to record an album folowing up her amazing first 3 singles and essentially ripped off her sound and diluted it accordingly in order to x-over from the hipsters to the mainstream.
UFFIEs singles are all fantastic and have that increasingly rare ingredient; a genuine don't-give-a-fuck attitude. She's like a filthier, cleverer Kesha with the balls left on basically.
Best exemplified by Ready to Uff:
and this is the OIZO produced upcoming new single:
Unbelievable
I lost all respect for Kesha once I saw this:
It is Kesha's Tik Tok video and her voice, set to Kylie Minogue's "Love at First Sight" music. It is a direct rip off, watch it through the end and you'll see what I mean. I can't believe she has gotten away with this.
I agree with you that a lot of pop is manufactured, but I don't think people typically steal like this.
