Jonathan Ross on the Baftas: so I switched off

rocker43's picture

I was looking forward to watching it but I only got as far as a few minutes into Ross's opening routine of crap jokes and the usual smug self satisfied delivery. The man is such a talentless, overpaid pillock. Anyone else switch off too?

I disliked it so much

that I didn't even switch it on!

I genuinely don't get...

... why some people don't like him. Each to their own, of course.

I like him too.

Shame he fell victim to the Mails anti BBC campaign.

J Ross

Back in 1986, when Jonathan Ross lived in South Hill Park in Hampstead and did "The Last Resort" everyone liked him. He was cool, refreshing and very watchable.

What the hell happened? He's morphed into someone really odd and quite disgusting.

Is anyone

actually the same as they were 25 years ago? Bad case of arrested development if you are...

Last Resort

I didn't like him then and I recall plenty of people who felt very much the same way.

I did quite like him on his Saturday radio programme, but on telly, he can't seem to help himself from being a twat.

Something happened with Sachs-gate

Like the scales collectively falling from the eyes of many.

I just can't watch him anymore.

I still like Ross, think he's great

Maybe I should start a Controversial Television Opinions thread to let everyone know.

I thought he

did a grand job of it.

not sure I'd go as far as grand

but he was perfectly fine tonight, much less smug and luvey than Stephen Fry kept stuff rolling along. BAFTA's themselves however are a bit dull.

Ross....

Rarely does wrong in my eyes ( and as I have mentioned on here before, I sorely miss his Saturday morning radio 2 show).

Didn't watch

but thoroughly agree with your review of Mr. Ross.

it's that ludicrous beard

Who's going to tell him how daft it looks?

Saw bits of the BAFTAs but it looks so stiff and dull, and hardly any winners turned up.

His radio show was great....

...but only when Mark Lamarr was standing in for him.

I went to see..

..Disney's new opus 'Tangled' in 3D at 10am yesterday, and found I couldn't watch anything else after that.

I like him

I like him, but I can't stand awards shows. Having Ross host is almost enough to make me watch one, but not quite. He was good on Top Gear last week.
