Why can't they just leave things alone
If I want to hear a John Martyn song, and I do quite often I'll play one from my collection.
Where as I have time for the Blind Boys of Alabama, the thought of Paolo Nutini! Hrmmph!
I Dunno
out of all that list, Apart from the Blind Boys, I think Nutini might make a decent effort, he has the band and the pipes to carry it off.
Kind of wish they'd got Lisa Hannigan to do Black eyed dog
which worked well in the recent concerts.
Footwear
Nice boots.
Black Eyed Dog
That's Nick Drake, though.
Ah
yes--you have a point there.
That'll teach me to post while semi-conscious ;-)
[Now *so* glad I wasn't visibly sanctimonious about Archie and Sly Stone]
John Wayne
Is there a band called "Oh My God" by any chance?
I am John Wayne...
It's beyond me why this song was so popular live, and consequently why anyone would want to cover it. It's oaf-rock that is far and away the worst thing John Martyn ever recorded, yet the yell of "I am John Wayne..." had people up on their feet cheering him on.
Utter garbage.
Wot no Florence?!?
Snow Patrol? May they never finish recording the song.
