John Cooper Clarke standing in for Guy Garvey on 6 Music last night knocked Theme Time Radio Hour into a cocked hat.

Johnny Clarke
can do no wrong in my eyes, saw him last year and it was a brilliant evenings entertainment. You could feel the love in the room for the man and he paid us back with a blinding set of old faves, stream of consciousness babble and on the spot ad libs. I have a ticket for him in December at the same venue, I know he won't let me down.
give this man his own show
Agreed
JCC has sat in on 6Music a few times in recent months, and he has consistently shown himself to be a great presenter. Yesterday's show was very very good. Follow toiras34's link. It's a highly enjoyable way to pass two hours.
Oh I did
and I caught the previous two shows he did about a month back. I wish he'd play less tunes and blather a bit more, that's where he shines.
That's what I was thinking.
I could have done with more chit chat. He's very entertaining. Thank goodness for the BBC iPlayer (radio division) otherwise I'd have to listen to American radio.
They don't have NPR where you live?
Knocks spots off Auntie's wireless. And it's listener supported, not funded by a tax. Me, I still contribute from atop a dank, offshore little island. You should give it a listen.
Oh! pt.2
I have been known to NPR now and again.
Gives me an excuse to post....
Quality
Just listened to the show...
Wow! What a great strike rate - the hits just keep coming.
Makes me pine for more Theme Time Radio Hour.
Thanks for the heads up!
Thanks for the heads-up :-)
Does anyone else remember the R2 shows Kevin Rowland did a year or so back? They were remarkably good, also.
I srsly
doubt that
