Stumbled across Alan McGee's piece on Joe Foster on the Guardian's blog earlier today.

I've had the pleasure of meeting Joe on a number of occasions and he is without doubt one of the more colourful characters in the business we call show. It got me wondering about the lack of similar personalities in the music business these days. Where are the McGees, Loog Oldhams, Don Ardens of today?
Or is the business run entirely by Simon Cowell types?
