I've a got a big smile on my face today

Tipperary 4-17 Kilkenny 1-18
I know many of you won't grasp the significance of this but Kilkenny who have won 7 All-Ireland Hurling Championships in the last 10 years and were going for a historic 5-in-a-row were comprehensively beaten yesterday by a brilliant Tipperary team in some style. I'll add clips once they come available on youTube. In the meantime thought you might be amused by this.

Congratulations
Though it's clear from your clip that Tipperarians are a subspecies.
Great result
I had to rely on Michaél on t'wireless and it sounded like a fabuluous game of hurling. There'll be some party in Thurles this evening and for the next week or so, I would say.
Particularly
if we push on and win the U21 next week.
per the other thread...
"I had to rely on Micheal on t'wireless"...
You say that like it's a bad thing!
Quite the opposite sir
As per t'other thread, I prefer Michael above all others. Also, finals day in the pubs over here are jammers, so even more reason to stay at home.
If I could I would like TV on with wireless commentary.
Any predictions for the football? Cork may just be a bit too big for the 'Mournemen'.
We don't really do the big ball game
in these parts but you're probably right about Cork.
As for Micheál he is truly a giant among commentators. They were running a highlights package on news programmes as I was driving home last night that was absolutely fantastic.
I don't know if this works outside Ireland.

Well worth seeing
Proselytising from a cousin over by persuaded me, on a footie-free Sunday, to seek out my first game of hurley since Dickie Davies reigned over World Of Sport. Very glad I did. OK, I have a severely untutored eye, but any fool could see two terrific teams really going for it. I can't think I've seen a better sporting contest this year, in anything. Hurling may have a convert.
Mind you, at the end the Tipperary captain had to make a (long, long...) speech, thanking everyone in Croke Park by name, and gave three cheers for the gallant Kilkenny. Is it like that every year ? You wouldn't get John Terry doing that.
Oh Yes!!!
The cúpla focal and three cheers is very much part of the whole thing. Thought Eoin went on a bit longer than usual though his gracious comments on Kilkenny were very appropriate and totally on the money.
Over on Facebook someone posted a clip with all the goals here

Can't see how it would be embedded here though.
Eoin, did everything but say
'Hello Cleveland' - he had plenty of side about him, I thought he was going to start doing magic tricks at one stage. Mind he had just won the All Ireland, so we can excuse him.
I'm more of a fan of the Paidi O'Shea style of winning speech a short, rabid spittle flecked blood and thunder affair. Alas it's all in Irish so no point posting here.
new
My wife is from Kilkenny and she was gutted yesterday. Henry getting injured aftr 10 minutes made a big difference to the outcome although that takes nothin away from Tipp. They deserved to win last year and coming where they came from in May ,yesterday's result was magnificent. Ps hope its lashing in Thurles tonight!
It was
but 45,000 still turned out to welcome Liam McCarthy back to the home of hurling!
The world's best sports writer
I have mentioned him here before, but Tom Humphries is so far ahead of anyone working in British sports journalism it's frightening.
Here's his analysis from Monday morning.

Brilliant piece
I loved the image of Shefflin on the stairs looking down at the assembled hacks following the new 'Kings of September'.

Me too!
Älmeboda/Linneryd just played 1-0 against Räppe, since you´re asking. Although I prefer their home games - much tastier hot dogs.
