ITunes question - US to UK

David Sutherland's picture

Having been in the US for 5 years, I'm heading back to the UK early next year.

I have a lot of music on my I-tunes US site.

Can I store this music on a exterior harddrive and then download it all to the UK i-tunes site?

I'm not going to face any problems am I?

Any advice is appreciated.

Doh!!!

You don't transfer it to the 'UK i-tunes site!' You actually just transfer it to i-tunes which will be on your own lap top (or pc)

Its not a problem and, yes, you can (indeed - SHOULD) store it all on an external harddrive too!

Doh!!! Doh!!

Sorry I could have worded that reply better........put all your music on the external hard drive, bring the hard drive with you to the UK, buy a nice lap top (maybe a Macbook) download i-tunes to the lap top and then transfer all your musc from the external hard drive to your lap top using i tunes to manage it.

However...

This will only work if all of the tracks have been upgraded to iTunes Plus format. If they're in the format DRMed version of AAC then you've got a problem, as they'll only work when your copy of iTunes is associated with your current iTunes store account.

If you can afford to update your files to iTunes plus, do. Unfortunately for rights reasons not everything can be upgraded.
