It's that time of year III

honestman's picture

When the honours list comes out at midnight, watch out for the two national (musical) treasures who have been recognised together, along with - for no obvious reason, maybe he's this year's John Martyn - a pioneer of a certain instrument around half a century ago.

Liam, Noel

and Rolf (Wobbleboard)?

Honest Man?

Are you from Ayr?

Grew up there

between 8 and 14, but AUFC were my first football team and it's a lot more enigmatic than the nickname of the (main) English club I follow.

Lemme guess...

Dizzee Rascal, Lily Allen and Sting (for his Lute work)

Hmm..

Burt Weedon for the latter.. And that's not a joke. He put more guitars in more hands than probably anyone else..

For the first two.. who cares?

Hmmm.

Hank Marvin & Bruce Welch, perhaps?

The other could be Mr. Acker Bilk?

Ah, the Quo...

Sir Frances and Sir Rick... would've had a nice (three-chord) twang to it. Shame. ;-)

Messrs

Parfitt and Rossi, plus Jet Harris.

And elsewhere, who will use the headline 'Make it Sir' now?

honestman | 31 December 2009 - 1:04am

Sir Patrick Stewart indeed...

Well that is a coincidence:

OBEs!

Parfitt and Rossi have got OBEs. Good for them. If the powers really wanted to honour them, though, shouldn't they be awarded ABEm7s?

Boom? Tish? Hat? Coat?

Very good Lenny

Quo army medal to you

now!

Disappointing

Nothing for the editor of the UK music magazine of the year 2007 & 2008 (who got 2009?) & his sidekick.

Lord Ellen of Islington and Dame David Hepworth would have been much deserved for service to the ligging industry and farting about on every available TV/radio show about obscure rock music.

Nevermind eh. How's next week's issue coming along? We're waiting y'know.
