It's.... the Jayhawks!

Richie B's picture

A sneak preview of what we can expect in September: "She walks in so many ways" from a re-formed "original line-up" band. Here they are live on Minnesota radio. And it's a belter. If you love jingle-jangle, it'll be right up your street.

Manchester

Eagerly looking forward to seeing them in Manchester on 4/8.

Their gig at the Shepherds Bush Empire in July 2000 remains one of the best shows I have ever attended.

Hooray!

Can't wait to see them. Hope the new stuff lives up to my impossibly high expectations.
Some days* I think 'Sound of Lies' is the best album ever made.

*not just days when it's title is neatly topical

Sub thread - best Jayhawks album

Actually they are all brilliant.

Hollywood Town Hall
Sound of Lies
Smile
Tomorrow the Green Grass
Rainy Day Music

What a great catalogue. I must do a 'Hawks playlist ASAP.

Also the Golden Smog albums are fun.

You could do a lot worse than...

.... go for the tracklisting of 2009's 'Music From the North Country'. Most of their best tracks plus loads of great b-sides and rarities. A great retrospective. Can't wait for the new stuff. I've played 'Hollywood Town Hall' at least once a week since it came out.

Some days.....

I also think Sound Of Lies is my favourite ever album, not a duffer on there but HaywIre in particular kills me everytime.

Minnesota

Lovely people, nasty mosquitos in summer and very cold winters. I really liked Minneapolis though, had a real buzz.

September?

Christmas comes early in Glasgow so it will be August 05 at the O2ABC for me. I'm on the guest list too (charities will benefit though). Very looking forward too this gig. Report to follow.

Thanks

For mentioning 05 August gig in London as I had deluded myself into thinking Glasgow was then. Now established it is 03 August. All the sooner then! Glasgow was originally to be in the smaller Oran Mor but has been moved to the larger venue. So, there is obviously a lot of interest.

Enjoy!

Sounds great,

will look forward to more of that, nothing like a bit of melodic jingle-jangle to lift the spirits.
