Its Friday

I was lying on the couch last night and before I had a chance to get my SKY + to kill the ad-break this came on.

Its for Club Orange. Ireland's finest. And its funny.

That must

have to have been written, directed and played out by the Irish to get away with that sort of self ridicule.

Don't know

if you mean that in a good way or a bad way.

Haven't you noticed ...

only the Irish make Irish jokes nowadays. See also 'Father Ted', and most recently the rather splendid Irish Eurovision entry which mocked the Irish and - if truth be told - most of the rest of Europe. Remember this was chosen by a nationwide public vote:

This is in front of a home crowd but it was literally booed off the stage at the Eurovision semi-final, and did we care ...?

"Eastern Euope, we love you,
Do you like Irish stew?"

StevenC | 18 July 2008 - 1:18pm

I love that too

The booing just added to it.

What was that comedy

about an irish family, all red-heads, sort of like the Cathering Tate nurse, i think it was fairly recent within 5 years...what was all that about?

Commoner | 18 July 2008 - 1:24pm

Sound nuts

Don't know, but I know a man who will. I'l gt back to you on that one.

Springer | 18 July 2008 - 3:08pm

Better than

the English making them I suppose.

Springer | 18 July 2008 - 1:05pm

Good way....

As in its ok to make fun of yourselves but its not ok for anyone else to point the finger at the 'Irish eejit' anymore is it? Great ad ...

Commoner | 18 July 2008 - 1:09pm

Damn tasty!

Great ad! I also love this one for a Dutch pizza chain that I saw (on a mainstream channel, believe it or not) when I was in Rotterdam recently. (Word of warning: it's a bit sweary.)
