Cher

Didn't she actually straddle a huge, real cannon on the 'If I Could Turn Back Time' video? Or was that simply a brilliant dream?

Didn't Cher do something similar...

...on a battleship?

16", actually..

The two forward turrets of USS Missouri, each mounting three 16" guns. Enormous things, they are.

And this is what they look like when they're doing what they're designed for..

I've had a wander around USS Wisconsin. Odd. A relic from WW2, obsolete even as it slid down the slipway seventy years ago yet still awesome today.

Christ!

Look at the massive depression in the water by the stern guns! That thing is moving serious quantities of air.

I'm really, really glad no-one has ever fired one of those guns at me.

Everything.

And I mean EVERYTHING, good about American indie in 2 minutes and 52 seconds. Nothing else required. Including any of the other records from this genre.

Dave Lee Roth

I have vague memories of DLR being led through the audience while straddling a 20 foot inflatable microphone as he sang this little number.

McLongWhiteCloud | 20 May 2010 - 1:36am

I saw him on that tour,

and I seem to recall that the B-stage was a boxing ring surrounded by goblins who pee'd on the audience.
