Is this the most beautiful woman ever?

BigJimBob's picture

or maybe it is?

what do you think?

Sorry I can do blokes too if you think this is sexist...but I genuinely talking aesthetically here..honest

1

No, the most aesthetically beautiful woman is...

Kate Rusby

or Audrey Tautou

or Penelope Cruz

or Freema Agyeman

or Lisa Hannigan

S'cuse the beer goggles

but the Penelope Cruz picture looks remarkably like Audrey Hepburn, another looker if ever there was one.

Is it just me...

or does she look like Marc Almond in a dress in that photo?

It's just you, Patrick

all of us might need a stomach pump after seeing that mash-up (he said knowingly....)

0
mojoworking | 14 September 2010 - 9:59am

Haven't scrolled down yet...

But Kate Rusby is just absolutely beautiful, phew...

0
herecomesbod | 11 September 2010 - 7:39pm

I don't know.

Kate Rusby is a pretty girl but when you stick her in the folk œvre, occupied by people who mostly resemble badly-thrown pots, witch-doctors' rattles and blind cobblers' thumbs, but all with more hairy bits, she looks like a goddess.

1
Lenny Law | 11 September 2010 - 11:19pm

I've seen her fairly close-up...

she looks like a goddess.

And I think what makes her really beautiful is that she sings, well excuse the cliche, but she sings like an angel. And she just seems so very down to earth and lovely too. I have a problem with the idea of 'aesthetics' because it is also about the light that shines from within. (I know, it's late... wine has been consumed... but, well, it's heartfelt.)

0
Adman | 12 September 2010 - 12:06am

You point to the question of beauty

which has vexed the greatest philosophers and artists. It is posited by some as a transcendent ideal. Others argue for socio-political normatives. It may be something to do with an inner spirit or an air of mystery or conviction or talent. And, of course, big knockers help

WHERE and WHY

would one buy those?

0
BigJimBob | 10 September 2010 - 3:25pm

At the risk of introducing a vague note of creepiness...

I expect there would be a market for Joan dolls. However, I think being delivered something like the above may disappoint the red-blooded bachelor that ordered it.

My 2 cents

Would have to be Isabella Rossellini...

1

Joanne Whalley

I used to go out with a girl who looked exactly like Joanne Whalley. She was an absolute nightmare.

a gossip story about a well known French actor who had a thing about sex in public places being caught at it with his French/Italian actress girlfriend in some stately chateau. I seem to recall a commentator saying "Please God, don't let it be Monica Belluci, my blood pressure couldn't take it"

Monica Belluci..

Claire Bloom.
So attractive that her overwhelming good looks essentially led to her being miscast in 'Look Back In Anger' as she was simply too good looking.....of course Jimmy Porter would have had an affair with her!

The great Barry norman said

"I was interviewing her about Frankie and Johnny, but she had made the movie six months previously, another one since and was filming a third. She couldn't remember the movie and the interview was a little dull and I remember that she had said in a previous interview that she sometimes felt like a duck. I said that if only all ducks looked like her, then most of the men in the country would be in court for bestiality," .

Helen and Sigourney

Well done, sir. I once saw a picture of Genevieve in an old Films and Filming magazine (presumably a feature on her starring role in "Anne of a Thousand Days") when I was but 10 years old and fell hopelessly in love with her. Quite painful it was. Mlle Huppert is another worthy choice. I just saw a surprising amount of her in J-L Godard's Sauve Qui Peut" (hint, hint!). She's a terrific actress and, yes, very easy on the eye also. Vive la différence!

Has anybody actually met the

Has anybody actually met the women they've posted pics/vids of and did they meet your expectations? I've met both of those I posted above and they are both just as stunning in real life.

I "met" Irene Jacob after seeing her perform in Madame Melville (with Macauley Culkin!) at the Vaudeville. Couldn't really speak to her as her bodyguard was looming over the small group that had begun to surround her but I did manage to get a pic - and she accidentally touched my hand!

Juanita Stein I've seen several times as she and her band always seem to hang around the audience at gigs and are very approachable. After one of their gigs/signings at the Virgin Megastore (RIP) she was browsing the aisles with a bunch of CDs in her grasp. Knowing she has pretty good taste in music I thought I'd take the opportunity to strike up a conversation with her. I asked her if she had anything interesting and she proceeded to show me four or five CD covers that seemingly featured neither song title nor artist, just blocks of colour or abstract images so I basically nodded in approval of all of her selections until, finally, I recognised something - a CD by Prince!

"Um, not really my cup of tea"

Conversation: Stone. Dead.

I could almost hear her saying "just leave me alone creep!" as I shuffled away back to my friends...

Two or three years ago

I was travelling by tube when I read in the Metro (or one of the many other free London papers) that Helen Mirren would be signing copies of her new book at Waterstones in Piccadilly.

On an impulse I jumped off the tube at Leicester Square and walked to the store. Once inside I bought a copy the book and stood in line waiting for my turn to arrive.

Helen smiled and asked my name as she signed and I can confirm that in real life she is even more jaw-droppingly attractive and vivacious than in photographs.

I might add, there seemed to be rather a lot of men of a certain age there that day, many of whom walked out of the store with a wistful, faraway look in their eyes.

1

When Frank Sinatra could have any woman in the world

He only wanted Ava

I think Frank did have most women in the world...

Olivia de Havilland

bricameron | 14 September 2010 - 5:25am

On seeing Carla Gugino

in glorious black and white, in the less glorious "Sin City" I think my heart nearly stopped. Unfortunately, she seems to have shed most of her clothes in that, so you'll have to make do with a colour pic. Sorry about that.

And for English roses - it would be a toss up between Jenny Agutter and Maddy Smith, which, come to think of it...

1
nicktf | 14 September 2010 - 7:02am

an UP

for the delicious Ms. Smith, she helped me through some 'difficult' times

0
James Blast | 14 September 2010 - 9:20pm

I remember coming over all peculiar...

... when I saw Madeline Smith naked in 'Up Pomeii' when I was a young teenager. To quote Sid James from 'Carry On Cleo' "puer, oh puer, oh puer!"

Who is this

Elle Peculiar? Got a pic?

0

Your wish, etc.

0
Billybob Dylan | 14 October 2010 - 7:39pm

Natalie Wood

What a beautiful creature she was.I'm having palpitations just thinking about her in that scene from Sex and the single girl where she's half naked in the bed on the phone.Phew!

0
bricameron | 14 September 2010 - 7:04am

Ha!

That was on TV last night!

0
Billybob Dylan | 14 September 2010 - 9:47pm

I've just scrolled through all the pics here...

... and most of them have left me feeling a little er... moist.

0
Billybob Dylan | 14 September 2010 - 7:06am

And no-one's mentioned...

Ingrid Pitt yet!

0
bricameron | 14 September 2010 - 7:09am

Almost missed this

I met Ingrid at a memorabilia exhibition. She *made* me buy a topless photo of her, the one in the bath from Where Eagles Dare (I think), so she could sign it. It was taken a long time ago and I did not realise it was her!

0
Beany | 20 September 2010 - 11:04am

Obviously

Pitt the Younger.

0

A stunner however you look at her.

Let's hear it for the Aussies

2
mojoworking | 14 September 2010 - 7:42am

If we were doing Top Tens

If we were doing Top Tens I'd have at least 2 and a half Aussies in there: Juanita Stein as mentioned above, Cate Blanchett and Naomi Watts (born in England, move to Oz at 14).

0
pbobcat | 14 September 2010 - 12:29pm

I was going to

include the lovely Naomi Watts in the list, but I had a feeling she was British

0
mojoworking | 14 September 2010 - 12:46pm

Cate may not be a classic beauty, but I would vote for her

The intelligence, laugh, voice, talent and humour make her attractive. (Sorry, Paris.)

There´s something with her looks too, even if it not the typical Hollywood thing. She looks like someone you can imagine chance a flat tyre.

Ola Claesson | 14 September 2010 - 6:54pm

sticking to my op, Halle Berry really is aesthetically incredibly beautiful:

But OMG, Chakka Khan has something:

0
BigJimBob | 14 September 2010 - 9:52am

Chaka Khan is a person I've seen in the flesh

And she was the size of a No.19 bus.

0
Brookster | 14 September 2010 - 1:36pm

and your

point is?

0
BigJimBob | 14 September 2010 - 3:10pm

I saw her in the flesh at the North Sea Jazz Festival in 1990...

and she gave me a smacker on the lips after I told her how much I'd enjoyed her concert.

She is a *very* sexy woman.

Also partial to Catherine Keener:

Elizabeth Shue's character has a teenage son. Which is easily the scariest thing in the film.
