No, the most aesthetically beautiful woman is...
Kate Rusby

or Audrey Tautou

or Penelope Cruz

or Freema Agyeman

or Lisa Hannigan

S'cuse the beer goggles
but the Penelope Cruz picture looks remarkably like Audrey Hepburn, another looker if ever there was one.
Is it just me...
or does she look like Marc Almond in a dress in that photo?
It's just you, Patrick
:-)
Don't think so!
He might be a bit of a diva but he doesn't hold a candle to Our Aud

I reckon
all of us might need a stomach pump after seeing that mash-up (he said knowingly....)
Haven't scrolled down yet...
But Kate Rusby is just absolutely beautiful, phew...
I don't know.
Kate Rusby is a pretty girl but when you stick her in the folk œvre, occupied by people who mostly resemble badly-thrown pots, witch-doctors' rattles and blind cobblers' thumbs, but all with more hairy bits, she looks like a goddess.
I've seen her fairly close-up...
she looks like a goddess.
And I think what makes her really beautiful is that she sings, well excuse the cliche, but she sings like an angel. And she just seems so very down to earth and lovely too. I have a problem with the idea of 'aesthetics' because it is also about the light that shines from within. (I know, it's late... wine has been consumed... but, well, it's heartfelt.)
You point to the question of beauty
which has vexed the greatest philosophers and artists. It is posited by some as a transcendent ideal. Others argue for socio-political normatives. It may be something to do with an inner spirit or an air of mystery or conviction or talent. And, of course, big knockers help
Weird lips....
On the top one. Deneuve is sexy tho.
You're all wrong
It's Joan from Mad Men.
Not enough, is it?
WHERE and WHY
would one buy those?
At the risk of introducing a vague note of creepiness...
I expect there would be a market for Joan dolls. However, I think being delivered something like the above may disappoint the red-blooded bachelor that ordered it.
There can be only one
Absolutely

Ahhh...
memories.
Sorry..
Got to pop upstairs for a bit..
I'd just like to say
'gusset'
then leave by a quiet way out

this is a sight for sore eyes. thanks dude.
I believe I have the correct answer

Apologies if this doesn't work.
Edit Bloody hell. I truly am a numpty.
Does this help?
Perhaps not the most beautiful *ever*
But Sky Sports' Charlotte Jackson currently does it for me. Cheeky grin, magnificent eyebrows, loves football, what more could a man possibly want?
Oh well, if we're going to have news readers....
Well old footage
but the clips from the Yucatan; hubba hubba. Well chosen.
My 2 cents
Would have to be Isabella Rossellini...
or Miss Joanne Whalley (circa Edge of Darkness / Singing Detective).....
Joanne Whalley
I used to go out with a girl who looked exactly like Joanne Whalley. She was an absolute nightmare.
God...
...this thread really makes me feel inadequate. Although I do like football, so fulful at least one of the aforementioned criteria.
Having attended one or two Word Bloggers events...
... I can assure you that the prime handsomeness on display had me feeling pretty inadequate as well.
Prime handsomeness?
A lot of it you say? Well then, I really must summon up the courage to attend one...
I could be cynical - not having been there -
and accuse you of hoping for more lurve on your future postings...
Or maybe you just want to go crazy and surf on northern manliness.
Sorry but I'm only a fake Geordie :-)
Simonetta Vespucci - fwooooar.
Has a look
of Uma Thurman
Looks more like...
... Howard Thurman.
Living in München
As I do, with the Oktoberfest rapidly approaching, I'm pleased to see that the local Mädchen are increasingly looking like this.
Excellent
I'll be in Munich on October 16. Where will I find these two?
Bad timing
Unfortunately the Oktoberfest finishes on 4 October. The ladies will be back in their normal clothes again.
Curses
That's misleading advertising. They should call it the Beginning-of-Oktoberfest.
Being in possession of beer goggles...
they all look mighty fine to me.
On behalf of Mrs Clef, Neil Finn and Sean Bean still float her boat. Any more than eight letters and she gets confused...

I got around to watching Rear Window recently
I just couldn't understand why James Stewart wanted to sit by the window all day, while Grace Kelly was continually trying to seduce him. Madness.
... is the correct answer
though Betty from Mad Men has something of a slightly unhinged Grace Kelly about her.
yep this is the one
I started another thread not realising this was running. Grace does it for me too.
Grace Kelly...
...they simply don't make them like that anymore.
Fiddley-Dee!
Sophia
Sherilyn Fenn
from Twin Peaks still works for me. Sorry I can't work out how to post the photos.
...who needs photos, when you have YouTube...
Yep
she'll do for me!
"I'm Audrey Horne."
Yes. Of course you are.
We'll always have Paris...
Sigh.
Yes
but who's the plain-looking bird next to Humph?
I love...
Ingrid Bergman.
I love Ingmar Bergman
but that's not important right now.
Still, nothing like a quick game of chess with Death to set you up for the day
Nope....
it's Michelle Phillips
Isabelle Adjani
Could someone more technically competent than me please post a photo?
Consider it done...
Mmmmm. Isabelle
http://www.youtube.com/watch_popup?v=Tb-GvpCUwDw&vq=medium#t=39
Never lovelier.
Isabelle gets my vote as well.
I was never the same after seeing "One Deadly Summer" on BBC2 late on a Sunday night.
Ca fait chier
Watched this on DVD only a few weeks ago. Talk about televisual viagra!
If it's good enough for Lennon
A thing of beauty is a joy forever: its loveliness increases; it will never pass into nothingness
or if it's good enough for Neil Young, Graham Nash et al:
Joni
Nice pic of Joni; I think this one is vintage lovely:
Ahem...
I remember
a gossip story about a well known French actor who had a thing about sex in public places being caught at it with his French/Italian actress girlfriend in some stately chateau. I seem to recall a commentator saying "Please God, don't let it be Monica Belluci, my blood pressure couldn't take it"
Monica Belluci..
I'm certain that she was designed in a laboratory by a committee of perverts.
Great day's work
though wasnt it?
Look no further than Bob Ferris in 'The Likely Lads'.....
.....not Bob himself you understand but the actress he is said to have had a crush on as a teenager.
Claire Bloom.
So attractive that her overwhelming good looks essentially led to her being miscast in 'Look Back In Anger' as she was simply too good looking.....of course Jimmy Porter would have had an affair with her!
Ladies and gentlemen
we have a winner:

the stunning Ann Margaret, phew!
for some reason
i only remember ann margaret in black & white, which is probably a nonsense on my part ...
colour adds something ...
according to wikipedia, she was a keen (motor)biker in the 1960s, swedish, and fond of a drink although that slid into alcoholism ...
finally: oooh
I have no problem
with that Wiki entry
Ann-Margaret
I had my first crush on Ann-Margaret
I had one too
after seeing pics like this:
How cool is she?
How cool?
very!
Amanda Donohoe
Innit?
caveat emptor
and your point is...?
What a way to go, eh?
;-)
no, no. no...
...okay then, maybe it's Audrey Hepburn. But if not it's Barbara Flynn in her prime...
Scrolled down...and
It's still Kate Rusby. [goes for lie down]
The face that launched a thousand ships...
Diane Kruger, mmmmmm.
Tuesday Weld was a very pretty girl..
The thing which worries me, however, is that she was fourteen in this photo.
So I don't want any comments about furry collars or, worse, if the photographer had framed the shot a bit lower, we might have seen her muff as well.
It's just dawned on me...
...that's the cover of a Matthew Sweet album
Can't believe Christina Hendricks hasn't been mentioned yet...
Er....
http://www.wordmagazine.co.uk/content/is-most-beautiful-woman-ever#comme...
I have scrolled down this thread looking in vain for....
the goddess michelle pfeiffer:
http://www.google.ie/images?hl=en&q=michelle+pfeiffer&um=1&ie=UTF-8&sour...
as Catwoman perhaps?
or just free range?
The great Barry norman said
"I was interviewing her about Frankie and Johnny, but she had made the movie six months previously, another one since and was filming a third. She couldn't remember the movie and the interview was a little dull and I remember that she had said in a previous interview that she sometimes felt like a duck. I said that if only all ducks looked like her, then most of the men in the country would be in court for bestiality," .
Helen and Sigourney
I must admit to having had a thing about the younger Helen Mirren, seen here in Excalibur:
And Signourney Weaver also made quite an impression on me in my youth - especially this scene:
I'd venture that the lovely Helen
is still beautiful now
Nice picture!
The lovely Jenny Agutter also springs to mind as a natural beauty, too. You can actually buy a signed photo by visiting her website at http://www.jennyagutter.net/gallery.html and supporting her favourite charities, so I won't post one here.
Of course!
You are of course absolutely right ...
What a beautiful and striking necklace...
Gives game away about my secret desire to be a jewellery designer...
Not sure about young Ms Mirren
In that photo she looks like she could be pushing a pram along Croydon High Street.
Pas de photo
Emanuelle Beart, mes amis.
The girl behind the desk at the Albergo Sassi...
in Matera, Italy. Ti voglio bene, signorina... i tuoi occhi brillano come le stelle nel cielo e voglio fare l'amore con te stasera. Chiamami quando vuoi...
You mean...
... her with the big tits?
Ah Mlle Bujold..
Well done, sir. I once saw a picture of Genevieve in an old Films and Filming magazine (presumably a feature on her starring role in "Anne of a Thousand Days") when I was but 10 years old and fell hopelessly in love with her. Quite painful it was. Mlle Huppert is another worthy choice. I just saw a surprising amount of her in J-L Godard's Sauve Qui Peut" (hint, hint!). She's a terrific actress and, yes, very easy on the eye also. Vive la différence!
Would love to post on this one
but I'm taking my life in my hands(ahem)just looking at it.A man has to sleep sometimes and with both eyes shut.
While I'd have to agree, there are probably half a dozen
ladies I would place in that exalted position, I'm surprised there's no mentioned of...
Ah,memories.
*Posted with the kind permission of Mrs Squeezer.
I'm struggling here
I think the top one is the gorgeous Nastassia Kinski (with a dad that ugly, what must her mum have been like??); who's the other one?
serious?
Jenny Agutter.
Oh yes.
That's the lovely Nastassia.Yea Mama!!
Jenny Agutter
Hi Pencilsqueezer, hope your antivirus is up to date, mine detected a threat on the H&P Jenny Agutter page.
As I said above, she's still a looker now.
Thanks for the heads up bassclef
I've not experienced any problems.I always strive to keep the nasties at bay.
two of my favourites
Irene Jacob, especially in her Kieslowski films:
and Juanita Stein of The Howling Bells:
I totally fell in love with Irene Jacob
in "Double Life of Veronique". Something about the lighting in the film made her look ... beatific.
Indeed! The whole film is
Indeed! The whole film is almost a paean to her beauty.
Juanita Stein
Another vote for Juanita from me.
(forgive the retch-inducing cliche)but I fell for her voice before seeing her....
Sorry about that..
It has to be...
... the woman who would be my wife.
She doesn't exist at present, so until that fateful day - it has to be 'The Body'
Caroline Langrishe
Game Over?
Charlotte Rampling
her surname alone sounds like a deeply pleasurable thing to do
I was quite taken with...
Ludivine Sagnier. Her co-star in Swimming Pool.
Reasons to hate Jean Michel Jarre
He was married to Charlotte Rampling
He was involved with Isabelle Adjani (she's on the cover of his Geometry of Love album. Google it and see if you can see which bit).
He's now married to Anne Parillaud.
He does have fairly exacting standards, doesn't he?
Sexy as buggery
in the Night Porter. Jean Michel Jarre was a lucky man.
Greta Scacci
Was it not Mr Hepworth who stumbled upon her when he went to interview Tim Finn and was rendered slack-jawed by her stunning beauty?
Are you sure that's her?
It doesn't look like her.
i know she's bonkers but
she is beautiful
Here she is
Explaining television:
This regularly makes me bounce up & down with glee.
Has anybody actually met the
Has anybody actually met the women they've posted pics/vids of and did they meet your expectations? I've met both of those I posted above and they are both just as stunning in real life.
I "met" Irene Jacob after seeing her perform in Madame Melville (with Macauley Culkin!) at the Vaudeville. Couldn't really speak to her as her bodyguard was looming over the small group that had begun to surround her but I did manage to get a pic - and she accidentally touched my hand!
Juanita Stein I've seen several times as she and her band always seem to hang around the audience at gigs and are very approachable. After one of their gigs/signings at the Virgin Megastore (RIP) she was browsing the aisles with a bunch of CDs in her grasp. Knowing she has pretty good taste in music I thought I'd take the opportunity to strike up a conversation with her. I asked her if she had anything interesting and she proceeded to show me four or five CD covers that seemingly featured neither song title nor artist, just blocks of colour or abstract images so I basically nodded in approval of all of her selections until, finally, I recognised something - a CD by Prince!
"Um, not really my cup of tea"
Conversation: Stone. Dead.
I could almost hear her saying "just leave me alone creep!" as I shuffled away back to my friends...
Almost
I did see Emanuelle Beart getting out of a taxi in Paris. She was stunningly beautiful and invited me back to hers for coffee. The last bit is a lie.
So it was for a cup of tea?
So it was for a cup of tea? :)
Two or three years ago
I was travelling by tube when I read in the Metro (or one of the many other free London papers) that Helen Mirren would be signing copies of her new book at Waterstones in Piccadilly.
On an impulse I jumped off the tube at Leicester Square and walked to the store. Once inside I bought a copy the book and stood in line waiting for my turn to arrive.
Helen smiled and asked my name as she signed and I can confirm that in real life she is even more jaw-droppingly attractive and vivacious than in photographs.
I might add, there seemed to be rather a lot of men of a certain age there that day, many of whom walked out of the store with a wistful, faraway look in their eyes.
Helen Mirren
I ran into her in the West End after a play while on vacation in London a number of years ago. Absolutely lovely, both physically and personality-wise. Been taken with her since Prime Suspect started.
Lucky Man
Personally I've been taken with her since O Lucky Man, which means since about 1974!
Has to be...
...Hedy Lamarr.
Hedley, nincompoop.
Hedley, nincompoop.
Her brother Mark

She looks just fine to me.

I suspect it was this one, but the code got scrambled.

Kristin Scott Thomas. Beautiful. Talented. Bilingual. Perfect storm.

Olivia de Havilland
On seeing Carla Gugino
in glorious black and white, in the less glorious "Sin City" I think my heart nearly stopped. Unfortunately, she seems to have shed most of her clothes in that, so you'll have to make do with a colour pic. Sorry about that.
And for English roses - it would be a toss up between Jenny Agutter and Maddy Smith, which, come to think of it...
an UP
for the delicious Ms. Smith, she helped me through some 'difficult' times
I remember coming over all peculiar...
... when I saw Madeline Smith naked in 'Up Pomeii' when I was a young teenager. To quote Sid James from 'Carry On Cleo' "puer, oh puer, oh puer!"
Who is this
Elle Peculiar? Got a pic?
Your wish, etc.
Natalie Wood
What a beautiful creature she was.I'm having palpitations just thinking about her in that scene from Sex and the single girl where she's half naked in the bed on the phone.Phew!
Ha!
That was on TV last night!
I've just scrolled through all the pics here...
... and most of them have left me feeling a little er... moist.
And no-one's mentioned...
Ingrid Pitt yet!
Almost missed this
I met Ingrid at a memorabilia exhibition. She *made* me buy a topless photo of her, the one in the bath from Where Eagles Dare (I think), so she could sign it. It was taken a long time ago and I did not realise it was her!
Obviously
Pitt the Younger.
No Cameron Diaz either?
A stunner however you look at her.
Let's hear it for the Aussies
If we were doing Top Tens
If we were doing Top Tens I'd have at least 2 and a half Aussies in there: Juanita Stein as mentioned above, Cate Blanchett and Naomi Watts (born in England, move to Oz at 14).
I was going to
include the lovely Naomi Watts in the list, but I had a feeling she was British
Cate may not be a classic beauty, but I would vote for her
The intelligence, laugh, voice, talent and humour make her attractive. (Sorry, Paris.)
There´s something with her looks too, even if it not the typical Hollywood thing. She looks like someone you can imagine chance a flat tyre.
Three more Aussies
I used to watch Quizmania just to watch Suze Raymond. Now that's devotion! Here's an action shot

Channel 9 Melbourne personality Livinia Nixon

Lastly born to play Wonder Woman- Megan Gale!

Oh, thought of a couple more
sticking to my op, Halle Berry really is aesthetically incredibly beautiful:
But OMG, Chakka Khan has something:
Chaka Khan is a person I've seen in the flesh
And she was the size of a No.19 bus.
and your
point is?
I saw her in the flesh at the North Sea Jazz Festival in 1990...
and she gave me a smacker on the lips after I told her how much I'd enjoyed her concert.
She is a *very* sexy woman.

Sorry about the double-post.

Oh Yes!
Was going to post her earlier too. Would probably be about number 3 in my top ten. Her features are slightly wonky but I think that makes her even lovelier plus she's a Mozzer fan too :)
Eva Green

Gosh!
