iPod Touch Headphones

Johan's picture

I've been using the latest model iPod Touch for a couple of months now, and think it's time I upgraded the headphones. I would like a pair of closed back headphones rather than in-ear ones.

Anyway, my question is this: the headphones which came with the iPod have a handy volume control/pause button on the headphone wire itself. If I buy a new pair from someone like Sennheiser, do thay make any which have that facility? Or will I be stuck with having to adjust volume and pause by accessing the iPod itself?

Thanks

Sennheiser

My Sennheiser CX500s have an in-line volume control and sound great. No pause button but if you need to stop the pod just pull the earphone jack out and it pauses playback. Usually available for a mega discount on Amazon or Play.com

Klipsch

I got some klipsch S4i's for Christmas after I asked for them. They are in ear sound insulating earphones which mean that others don't have to listen to me and, more importantly, I don't have to hear anyone else! The klipsh phones come with an online remote which works with apple's voice control (which doesn't understand my accent and doesn't like the name 'jean-michel jarre'.

They are a bit bassy, but they are better then the shure se-210's which they have replaced and the oval shape makes them more comfortable too...

Go for in ear phones and think about everyone else!

Sennheiser CX300's

I'm on my 3rd pair of CX300's now. They fit nicely, have a sweet sound, about £12 to £13. I'm on my 3rd as I've managed to lose 2 pairs. Remember to buy from reputable retailers as there are fakes about.

Also remember, you can bring up the ipod touch volume control by double clicking on the button and save the hassle of unlocking etc.
