iPhone Cigarette Lighter apps for concerts
Posted by PFacto on 19 March 2009 - 8:55am.
I was listening to one of my tech podcasts today ("Cranky Geeks") and was alerted to the existence of various iPhone "cigarette lighter" apps. No one smokes these days, so you run this app and wave your iPhone around at concerts. Taking America by storm apparently. Anyone seen one at a gig?

Ocarina
Smule, who make the sonic lighter in the second piece, also do my current favourite iPhone app, the ocarina:
Just for Mark Ellen
There is now a 'Grateful Dead' app for the iPhone. Currently on the front page of the app store. Seems to be more about Dead photography than anything else but not fully investigated yet.
Just thought the Massive would like to know.
Can't see an 'official' Dead app :-(
There's a couple of silly 'lyrics quote' apps but there IS Bob Weir's own 'Weir's World' app where he gets kids to learn the alphabet through his songs.
That is quite possibly the most idiotic idea...
I've heard in years. Grrrr.
Always believed
that waving cigarette lighters at gigs was a sort of geeky American stadium thing.Never seen it myself, has anyone else?
On the plus side
you won't burn you fingers
On the minus side, someone's going to hoick £200 of pointless technology out of your hand if you start waving it about in the mosh pit.
