So, i'm DJ'ing next week and for the hell of it, i've decided (in my two hour set) to only play cover versions *will anyone notice*
I'm definitely going to start with two of my favourite covers of all time.

You're deciding your set *beforehand*?
Controversial...
YMOs
cover of "tighten up" is even more crucial...just remember to play the reprise within the following fifteen minutes..they'll love it!!
ace rockin' cover version?
Step forward, 'Just My Imagination' by the Stones from Some Girls. Often mistakenly derided, but it just rocks!
St Etienne
Only Love Can Break Your Heart
and the Introspective version of PSB's version of Always On My Mind
This is what you want
This never fails
A highlight
from the World of Five Centres CD, now available in all good bookshops.
How about this for the slow dance number?
Could be the first dance even:
Marsha Ambrosius - "Sour Times"
'Ere's a song for ya!
Ain't No Love in the Heart of the City by Whitesnake.
By the way, I keep reading your nom de blog as "magical ex".
I'd go for a PSB cover myself
Where The Streets Have No Name (Can't Take My Eyes Off You). Two for the price of one
Give this a spin, Magic
not strictly a cover but never fails....
...
that is just...words cannot...wow.
I am so playing that in my Sunday afternoon set at my friend's mini-festival in August.
Back in my Djing days
this was never out of my bag...
To add to what looks like a very wierd gig
Man dis set list is mingin, but I'll play anyway
"Istanbul (Not Constantinople)" - Ska Cubano
I'm sorry,
but cover versions of We Might Be Giants' songs ain't nobody's business but the Turks.
We Might Be Giants
The They Might Be Giants tribute act of choice.
Hang on!
Hang on tight!
We might be giants (oh boy)
We might be giants
We might be rain
We might be heat
We might be confused with They Might Be Giants
Retronaut covers band The Four Lads, from 1953
Istanbuuuuuulll...
Easy Star All Stars
She's Leaving Home or Let Down (Radiohead cover)
Grover Washington Junior - Inner City Blues
Hot 8 Brass Band- Sexual Healing
Massive Attack - Be Thankful For What You've Got
Associates - Heart Of Glass
Blondie - Hanging On The Telephone

And how about "TNK(Tomorrow Never Knows)" from 801 Live
Shinehead
Billie Jean (with a touch of Morricone)
Blood Sisters - Ring My Bell
Here's a couple
Dirt Music (collaborating with Tamikrest) tackle 'All Tomorrow's Parties':
Pixies playing the Surftones' 'Cecilia Ann':
This rather splendid
and should get the punters moving:
To hell with irony.
The floor might not shake, but this is a tremendous cover.
Hooray for irony!
The floor might not shake, but this also is a tremendous cover
