I'm on a bit of a Seinfeld kick at the moment...

Feats of strength, airing of grievances and an aluminum pole. It's beginning to look a lot like Festivus...

Festivus ....

.... truly the most 'spongeworthy' of all religous observances! I've said this before, I'll say it again, the lack of success of Seinfeld in the UK is utterly baffling - get James Burke on the case!

Scheduling

Burncoat hits the nail on the head about why it never took off: the BBC couldn't give it a regular slot. Every time you recommended to someone, saying 'It's on Tuesdays at 11:15', it wouldn't be.

I watched four episodes from Season 6 last night - I still don't like it as much as Frasier.

TV schedulers...

I remember seeing some scheduler/programmers or whatever they're called being interviewed once on TV, and they were making out it was such an "art." So so annoying to watch their smug faces....What's so hard about it? Snooker/darts/gardening/home makeover/Steven Seagal movie...then repeat from start....Throw in 4 Weddings once a fortnight for variety's sake! Look at More4 getting rid of the one show they had that was worth anything!

Absolutely the greatest TV show ever made..

..except for the final episode it never put a foot wrong.

Ah but Curb

rectified the final episode with its reunion.

So so good!

One of my all-time faves, and one of the reasons I hate darts and snooker so much. I remember the BBC d***ing around with the scheduling of Seinfeld, and whenever some never-ending darts or snooker tournament came around, it always bumped Seinfeld. Grrrr....

This Was Supposed To Be The Summer Of George!

George Costanza gets my vote for the greatest sitcom character created.

And from the Marine Biologist episode -

"The sea was angry that day my friend, like an old man trying to return soup at a deli".

Magnificent.

I Love It

I bought The Complete Seinfeld box last year, but haven't opened it yet.

Did you see Jerry is playing the O2 - tickets are £100+!

The complete box set

is fab. Get it opened, It's what Christmas was made for!

Yes

I opened it - I had to - there's absolutley nothing to watch on UK tv this Christmas. Where's the film noir season, the Cary Grant season, Indiana Jones, The Great Escape, where's anything to watch apart from Dr Who? We sat through the much hyped Come Fly With Me Last night - it was pitifully bad.

Seinfeld Rock Band

What a coincidence!

I haven't watched Seinfeld for ages - it's syndicated on umpteen channels over here. It must be on 8 times a day, every day - but I watched an episode last night. I might watch it again tonight.

One of the best shows ever

All the characters were really good, Elaine had some of the best lines, 'maybe the dingo ate it'. It certainly has a lot of competition for the best ever slot though; Frasier, 30 Rock, Curb etc.
