If this has already been mentioned.....

...I apologise, but has anybody else realised just what a classic album Teddy Thompson has just released?

Perfection from start to finish, and hasn't been off my Pod since I bought it.

Well done, that man!

I'm with you on that one...

..Separate Ways is just as marvelous.

Never sure what to put here.

I really liked Separate Ways but I never investigated any others.

On your say so, I'll get this one. Many thanks for the tip.

Son of who?

I suspect it's fast approaching that RT will be identified as father of , rather than Teddy as "son of". He has perhaps the most plaintive voice in the world. A tour supporting james Blunt may even alert him to the masses, but I see he is in the Waitrose top 10 album chart, or has been within the last week or 3. Good review in Observer on sunday too, Kitty Empires main page headline review.
Observer? Waitrose? Bring on the revolution......

Retropath...!

That will never happen, unless Teddy conjures up something as good as "Beeswing"

Give him time!

He's only 30 odd, at least 15 years ahead of the age his Dad released Beeswing, prob nearer 20.
Don't get me wrong, RT is one of my favourites, and some, but the boy is making up for a late start, his Dad probably having left Fairport by the age TTs first album came out.

I concur!

I wasn't up to speed with him at all. I saw him singing in the recent Sea Shanty Show, thought he had a lovely voice - got the album of country covers, brilliant, then bought the new one - it's great and his guitar sounds fab.

Oddly enough

I don't like Teddy's voice, though I love his old man's. I enjoyed Seperate Ways without being too wild about it (my favourite bits were Richard's guitar). I also think he needs a bit a showbiz sparkle before he hits the big time - I don't think I've ever read a live review of his which didn't comment on his sullen demeanour.
The one I'm looking forward to is sibling Kamila's album - wonderful voice and a decent songwriter too.
