Idle ideas for your kind consideration
I work in marketing (but it's for good things I promise) and in an idle moment I had a couple of ideas that I think would work on this already excellent site (OBN).
Firstly, how about an alternative listing of blog posts that just shows the titles without the post itself? This could be customisable so that you could see as many or as few as you like per page. I often remember interesting posts from days or weeks ago that I'd like to revisit but can't face scrolling through pages and pages to find them. I know I can search or track posts but sometimes I forget.
Secondly, how about a rolling survey on the monthly CD? Sadly, I actually mocked something up using Survey Monkey - http://www.surveymonkey.com/s.aspx?sm=qlbhL0SnOdJEYEem2qEFMw_3d_3d - feel free to take part.
This could be updated as and when we buy tracks or albums and could be used to make the case to those in the industry who don't see the worth of providing tracks for promotional purposes. It would also show which tracks were the most or least popular and which artist got the most benefit of being included on the Word CD.
I for one would be more than happy to fill out a survey each month if it would help guarantee the continued existence of this fantastic bonus item.
Any thoughts?

If a post interests you
then, just like I do, make some mindlees comment on it. You can always see when posts are updated when you track them.
RSS
Can help with the posting stuff e.g feed://www.wordmagazine.co.uk/blog/feed
I like the Blog
Fraser has made some decent improvements to the tracking and the recently updated columns.
I do think that some threads tend to get passed over too as they disappear from view very quickly but then again I like having to read the posts, you can get opinions and comments on a variety of subjects that you might not otherwise bother with.
If you just have a title there might be a tendency to skip over subjects you think are boring but you might well be missing out on something interesting and funny.
Here's another improvement
Each post now has an "add to favourites" link at the bottom. Click it, and it'll appear on your profile page, allowing you to build up a list a favourite posts.
Let me know if anything breaks.
Also: for those of you who use RSS, each thread has its own feed.
psst
it's spelt 'add to favOrites'...y'might want to edit it, although perhaps you can't!
favorites => favourites
Now Anglicised.
I like the 'favourites' link, Fraser
Is there any possibility the 'tracking' could be turned off when you get tired of it. The classic example of this is the regular Randomizer post which Mr H kicks off occasionally. It's interesting for a day or so, but then continues to appear at the top of the 'Track' screen and becomes a tad tedious for weeks afterwards.
I'll look into it
But I don't imagine it's easily done.
I hadn't noticed that
Looks like it'll do just what I want. Ta.
As to the survey, the massive response so far (not really) has thrown up some interesting data about the reception the tracks received. I will post the results just as soon as I have a statistically significant sample.
couldn't the word cd
voting be done via a last fm group or something as you can love a track there not sure how this would work just a thought, it would better to record "true plays" the scrobbler never lies and all that(probaly)
