I wish everyone would love this as much as I do

About 10 years ago I loved Beulah, an Elephant 6 indie band who released a handful of albums which I played to death.
They broke up six years ago and I was devastated. Well, I say devastated, but what I mean is I haven't really valued another band as much since.
I have found The Hold Steady and some French rap bands which I obsessed over in the intervening period, but they didn't really spark the same deep devotional constant rotational love that Beulah did in 2000-2003.
So good news, their lead singer Miles Kurosky is back with a solo album, The Desert of Shallow Effects which is brilliant.
Here's a video from the album. As I say, I wish everyone loved this as much as I do.

They appear to have the whole Beulah back catalogue on emusic
And they sound like my sort of thing - so where should I start?
Start near the end
Merv, I'd recommend The Coast is Never Clear as your first port of call, it's a more complete sounding record than either Handsome Western States or When Your Heartsrings Break the earlier lo-fi indier offerings. It's also a lot happier and upbeat than their last record Yoko which is a break-up album on a whole host of levels.
However, throughout their recording career, the lyrics were always great and the music lovely and off kilter.
The tour film A Good Man is Easy to Kill is also worth buying and only a few quid on Amazon.
Here's the track it's named after.
