Apparently he's guilty of being a bit sentimental is his songs. It's a shame really because we could do with so many more musicians trying to be really arch and cool. There just isn't enough of them.
yes, I think she copped a lot of flak from purists for not being a musician first. But I always enjoyed those early McCartney albums precisely because they had that sort of innocence - Ram especially.
Good advice in all forms of communication is "start in the middle and finish soon afterwards".
Isn't that what Paul McCartney does at his best, and which makes his work so disinctive? His songs often sound as though there originally was an introduction, which he then dropped to get straight to the interesting part.
Me too

He was always better than Beaky or Titch, wasn't he?
I love Linda too
I know she's supposed to be a big joke, but I think she sounded great on those records.

I too am a lifelong devotee of Mr McCartney's musics.

One of his best chugger chugger songs. Love the guitar licks and brass on this:
And I just think this is just a great big "fuck you" to those a few years ago who claimed he couldn't write great songs anymore:
Finally my favourite song from his McCartney II album which kicked off the thread. In terms of sentiment I think of it as his "In My Life" song:
Ahhhh
Oh how I love the Biannual Word Magazine "Macca is Actually Brilliant" thread. And the inevitable "Back To The Egg is the lost masterpiece" post.
(Paul + Ringo) x George Martin =
Did anyone hear him on Radio One with Dev "jamming" on Thursday. The man's DNA is made of melody, it's frightening: He appears after 50 mins and the jam starts at 1 hour

it is indeed a ritualistic homage
- although in my year or so in these 'ere parts - I'm sure there's been at least 4 other such threads.
Wevs yeah? This is my favourite piece of Beatle made music other than "You Never Give Me Your Money"
Good old Uncle Albert and his pal Admiral Halsey
Paul Is Dead...Good
I love that his best songs seem effortless
Not a bad little band ...
It´s nice to be able to use the word genius without having
to worry I may have to regret it in two or three years...
