I Got Deja-Vu & Recurring Dreams

David Wright's picture

I was wondering how many of the word massive suffer from deja-vu and recurring dreams? I popped on the radio tonight whilst cutting up some steak and kidney pudding and Splitz Enz I Got You was playing in the background; both the smell of the pudding and the music were of course very familiar to me and i felt as though i was stuck in a moment i had experienced before. As for recurring dreams, at least once a month and often more, i wake up in a cold sweat thinking i haven't revised or handed in some work for an important exam. What can all this mean i wonder?

i'm not sure...

but i've got to ask, David, was it a coincidence that you used the words 'Recurring' and 'Dream' in this post, when you consider that this was the very name of a Crowded House 'Best of' compilation?

Yes

The thought did cross my name Ivan and "I Got You" is in itself another relation to Crowded House as it's Tim Finn's band, who was also in Crowded House for a fleeting time.

Deja Vu? Pah!

History Never Repeats (unlike steak & kidney pudding).

The actual phenomena of deja-vu...

... is thought to be caused by a random rush of oxygenated blood cells to the brain, activating the memory parts without giving them any "input", i.e. it feels like you're "remembering" what is actually happening right in front of you as it happens, which of course is why you can never remember what's going to happen next. I get it about 3 times a year and it's very disorienting...
