HURTS

Just named 4th in the BBC Sound of 2010 poll but don't let that put you off, i'd have thought this lot would be right up some of the WORD massive's street. If you like Pet Shop Boys 1980s b sides, OMD, Tears For Fears that sort of thing.
There's some admirably intelligent, artsy imagery on their myspace too and they do a nice line in references to French composers and whatnot on there.
Smart, stylish, nice tunes so far. What's not to like?

Sounds OK
A bit Prince-ish. The video is definitely...
The Jed woman is a tad distracting.
Possibly one of the things not to like..
Is that according to what I read this morning they have yet to play a live gig
Mind you, from reading the "Are you watching Jools?" thread nobody seems to like live music anymore
Gigs? Mm but then
Pet Shop Boys didn't tour until they'd had 2 worldwide number ones, a dozen Top 20 hits and half a decade on EMI records.
it sure does hurt
The 80's was such a wonderfully creative decade so why do people keep trying to copy the crap bits, comes across as a bit too Colin Vearncombe for me, even down to the over use of the words wonderful and life. Oh and that done to death 80's production sax is as close as you can get to fingernails down a black-bored
That's a hilarious video
I was waiting for the appearance of Ricky Gervais in his former days as lead crooner with Seona Dancing just to seal the ironic 80s of it all.
As for the girl she does a monthly flamenco slot after 9.30pm at our local tapas but obviously took inspiration from Roland getting jiggy in the Mad World vid:
