Anyone else watching this? Another HBO hit. On FX over here currently.Dark and funny - like Breaking Bad, Six Feet Under, True Blood, Dexter, Weeds, Entourage etc
God, the Land of the Free is making some great TV these days. Don't think I watch anything of British provenance anymore - apart from Life and QI - but nothing in the drama/comedy field. Although - of course - can't wait for the next Robson Green, Ross Kemp, Sarah Lancashire masterpiece
Hung features great music too - not least the fabulous opening credit sequence soundtracked by "I'll Be Your Man" by The Black Keys

I agree..
it's absolutely boss. And thanks for identifying the theme song, off to Itunes now. I'm also a new convert to Breaking Bad on Five USA. Another to check out is Brotherhood with Jason Isaacs, not out on DVD here (I think-I went Region 1 box set crazy after I saw a few on Sky) but maybe buried in the schedules here somewhere?
Haven't seen Hung - how far
Haven't seen Hung - how far into the run is it?
Think
it's about 5 or 6 episodes in - of a 10 episode series 1. However, basic premise - high school basketball coach falls on hard times financially and emotionally and decides to become a gigolo -"Happiness Consultant" - using his best asset - is easy to pick up on.
Hopefully - it may get a repeat pretty soon or a move to terrestrial -but can't recommend it highly enough
Its' a
fair way in by all accounts
Great programme!
I'd heard good things about it when it was first running in the US, but wasn't looking forward to it as the whole premise just seemed too self-consciously "edgy" and "provocative."
I'm glad I gave it a chance though, as it's a genuinely warm comedy-drama - the characters aren't over-the-top and seem real, with decent motivations and responses to events. Good acting all round too, and his "pimp" is hilarious. There's a tad too much naked grunting for my tastes, but that's just me I'm sure.
PS I also like the 10-episode format - does anyone else find these US-style 22-24 episode runs are just too much?
Re: your PS
only thing about the show that's small but perfectly formed?
Boom-Tssscchh!
