Howard Devoto and Magazine reform!

http://www.culturedeluxe.com/news_item.asp?id=4569

Funny how we were discussing on another thread how Devoto appears to have been one of the few musicians to have genuinely retired from music.

This is one reformation that I'm really looking forward to.

I wonder who will replace the late John McGeoch?

So this is real life

I still regularly listen to the first 2 Magazine albums, Real Life & the Correct Use of Soap. They really have withstood the test of time. We'll have to see whether Howard and the boys have. With the X-ray Spex revival too, that's both my favourite bands of the late '70s knocking about again. I'm nt sure whether or not this is a cause for celebration.

Secondhand Daylight

was the second album

I wonder

if the number of post punk late 70s early 80s bands of critical acclaim which have recently reformed, now outnumbers those that haven't?

Replace McGeogh?

Only one man can. Paul Rogers.

Magazine...

...great, great band. 'Secondhand Daylight' and 'Real Life' I find particularly brilliant albums. This reunion flew under the radar a bit though, it certainly hasn't been widely publicised that I knew of.

I went to a funeral on Monday

...and the coffin was carried out of the chapel to the strains of Shot By Both Sides. I never thought I'd hear that at a funeral. Now it will always remind of it.

The show at The Forum in

The show at The Forum in London on February 13th has SOLD OUT within 48 hours of tickets being released for sale. Due to the fact that 2500 Magazine fans in reach of the metropolitan area can't be wrong, it's been decided that it would be only right and proper to allow another 2500 people of fine taste and judgement to take their chance. Magazine will now play another night in London Town. Tickets are now available for THURSDAY 12th FEBRUARY 2009 for THE FORUM in KENTISH TOWN. No price increase. Still only £25 from the usual suspects. Probably more from unusual suspects.
