How come I've never heard that before ?

Been a fan of Slade since i was a Nipper and i've heard "Far Far Away" hundreds of times but can't remember hearing the Third line before. Or maybe i've only just understood it.
Any other examples of Lyrics suprising in you in songs you've heard more times than you care to mention.? also how did it get passed the BBC censor ?.Maybe the same bloke who did "Walk On The Wild Side "

"I've seen the yellow lights go down the Mississippi
I've seen the bridges of the world and they're for real;
I've had a red light off the wrist without me even gettin' kissed
It still seems so unreal."

Happy Talk

...the Captain Sensible number one hit from the early 80s managed to fit in a very surprising word for a number one.

Clue: a four letter word beginning with C.

Youtube it and look for the good Captain performing on Top Of The Pops, it makes it very obvious what he's singing. It's during the middle section before the end choruses...

Or...

John Lennon exclaiming, "F***ing hell" at 2:56 during Hey Jude. Once you've noticed it, it's impossible to ignore.

What about

Johnny Rotten screaming "Pretty Vac*nt" at us. He really puts the extra emphasis on the last syllable. Funny how us young lads back then could only hear that and our parents couldn't. Liked the song much I took it is my Word de plume. Ahh memories
