Hooray! It's the return of the Randomizer

Usual rules. Give your iPod (other MP3 players are available) a random shuffle and then tell us the namesof the first five songs that come up. Cheat and everyone will know and small children will snigger behind their hands and point at you in the streets.

Whoever he is...

Now if it was Dino Danelli of the Young Rascals you might have a story.

shane pacey | 22 October 2007 - 1:57pm

Ooh, you little tease

Come off it, you can't just leave statements like that dangling in the air. Perhaps when the children are tucked up in bed, safely out of earshot, you might like to furnish us with a few more details about this little escapade.
Did Dino, for example, greet the new dawn by launching into a lusty rendition of this little belter . . .

Richard Lowe | 22 October 2007 - 2:37pm

Yes, come on Governor..

..make with the details.
Or are you saving it for the retirement fund "tell all?" I can see it now.

Indigo Girls - Closer to FIne (Indigo Girls)
Low vs Diamond - Moonage Daydream (Saturday Sessions)
The Dramatics - Whatcha See I Watcha Get (Have a Nice Decade: 70s Pop Culture Box Set - Rhino)

A strange, slightly 'popularist', mix this early in the morning - Where is Quo, Zep, All-the-Bands?

Ah! There we go... the sixth is Lowell George - Heartache (Thanks I'll Eat It Here).

PT | 23 October 2007 - 9:16am

Eat My Shuffle

This Is Just The Beginning - Gruff Rhys
Keep It To Yourself - Family Cat
All You Need Is Love - Beatles
Green Room Sex Kitten - Scheer
Lightning Bolt - Riff Wraiths

Wonderfully appropriate first track. Odd lack of Pavement and Super Furry Animals, despite them making up a large proportion of my current collection. On the whole, though, I'm happy with that little lot.

doctor.nacko | 25 October 2007 - 5:36pm

Ah. Now, you see....

I've just had a bit of an iPod spring clean, so currently I've not got any tracks ripped from my own retail cd's, just stuff from e-music, wippit, coverdiscs and the like. Most of which I haven't heard yet. This could be interesting.

Cry - The Raspberries
Hollow Horse - The Icicle Works
c30 c60 c90 go - Pretty Girls Make Graves
Martin's Third Letter - Dirty Fan Male
Radio Houston - Go Home Productions

Actually, no. Not very interesting at all.

BonzoDog | 26 October 2007 - 7:45am

underrated, methinks

Hollow horse by The Icicle Works is in my opinion one of the most underrated songs out there. Regular plays on my ipod anyways.

3. Go! Team - Flashlight Fight (Proof of Youth)
4. Cherry Ghost - 4AM (Thirst for Romance)
5. Vashti Bunyan - Brother (Lookaftering)

Am I alone in having listened to Aerial loads of times, really enjoying it, and not being able to remember any of the 'tunes' afterwards (apart from the chorus of King of the Mountain)? I am? Ah well...

Andrew2 | 27 October 2007 - 1:47am

The Ipod on random is the only way to listen

though it does make the Archers podcasts a tad confusing. My entry (with no need for any cheating!)

BonzoDog IS interesting

Anyone with The Raspberries on their iPod IS interesting. They are one of my great "near misses" in rock - 2 years ago almost to the day I arrived in LA to stay at the Mondrian and was humming and haa-ing in my usual indecisive manner as to whether I should go to see Eagles at some barn downtown when I discovered that The Raspberries were playing at The House Of Blues, literally across the street from the hotel. Jet lag and family pressure prevented me from sliding in, a decision I regret to this day, especially as the gig is now out on cd/dvd - and by coincidnce I ordered it just yesterday.
So BonzoDog, interesting, especially when compared to my aimless ramble!

Bruised Mike | 27 October 2007 - 11:16am
