Help wanted to identify a reggae tune
Posted by fentonsteve on 28 January 2010 - 5:09pm.
I recently heard 'Cockney Translation' by Smiley Culture which brought to mind hearing on early/mid-80's BBC Radio 1 a reggae tune with the refrain "I've got a bad, bad whatsitsname... a bad, bad thingumybob".
Heard once, 25 years ago, and now driving me insane.
I can find nothing in any of the the usual online places, but I'll bet somebody round here has a copy.
Cheers,
Steve

Hello, It's by Peter King -
Hello,
It's by Peter King - a label mate with Mr Culture on Fashion.
I can't find it on you tube though.
Cheers,
Tim
Smiley Culture!
Thanks for reminding me... brilliant!
Is that the same guy
who did a song with a lyric something like "step on the gas foot on the accelerator" going a little wild on the last syllable?
That's the chap
Thanks.
Funny how it sticks in the mind for so long. Is there a Best of Peter King/Fashion about?
This one..

Thanks, Tim, for the ID. At least I know what I'm looking for now - he is listed on Discogs.com. No luck finding a copy though. Ah well.
Cheers,
Steve
Thanks y'all.
I'll peruse Dub Vendor next time I'm 'down the Junction'.
