Help us compile the ultimate Christmas playlist
Posted by Fraser Lewry on 17 December 2010 - 1:32pm.
There's a Christmas album currently playing in the office and, to be frank, it's not terribly good (it's by Annie Lennox). In fact, it's dreadful. We're convinced The Massive can provide a much better soundtrack to another day in our dark room, so we've set up a collaborative playlist at Spotify. We'd be delighted if you could fill it with suitably festive trinkets. Usual rules apply: individual tracks only, no whole albums, and keep it Xmassy.
Here's the playlist. Go mental.

Beany - over to you............
......the rest of us can sit back and enjoy!
I resemble that remark
(My Spotify posting name is Scenehitter BTW)
Tee hee.
Bloody hell, I'm enjoying this.
Listening to Peter Cornelius's "Three Kings" right now, which is technically an Epiphany piece, but it's so great. And the rest of the Massive's suggestions are BRILLIANT.
Just got here
Nobody like 'Fairytale of New York'? Added now.
This is a great playlist...
... I love Christmas songs. I'm going to carry ChickenMusic around on my shoulders for adding Billy Joel's She's Right On Time.
La Lennox
Saw Miss/Mrs/Ms Lennox on yesterdays Titchmarsh show (I don't normally watch!) It was without doubt the worst musical thing I have seen all year. A complete f**k-up of the highest order.
If ever a TV advertising campaign
was guaranteed to reduce sales then the Lennox effort is surely it. Utter tripe. (the product that is)
On free spotify
can you turn off the tracks that it's found on your hard drive and just show the one's they store online? I keep adding tracks that no one else can play
Awww
There's a lot missing from Spotify that I would have loved to have added.
Such as "Rudy" by the Be Good Tanyas, and David Arnold and David McAlmont's version of "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas".
Will try and find other gems to add instead.
Damn you work firewall
This playlist had better live up to to the billing when I get home.
Spotify is barred from work
..so no idea the type of stuff that's on the playlist. Here's my favourite Christmas song. I know it's not "really" a Christmas song but it always brings the tinsel and holly out in me.....
Love this...
The spine-tingling orchestral intro is Christmas personified. Perfect record :-).
Merry jingle
It's been my pleasure to share Sock It To Me Santa by Bob Seger & The Last Heard with the group. But this is nowhere to be found on Spotify. I remember being hopelessly excited by it at the time …
I miss...
Phil Lynott. I really do...
Thea Gilmore
Add in the whole of Strange Communion. Job Done.
Is Universal Child by Annie Lennox
Is Universal Child by Annie Lennox the most annoying record ever made?
Not on Spotify
But Mr Frank Sidebottom should surely be represented somewhere
this is fun!
I've added some more
I'd like to join in...
but I'm on my laptop and that doesn't have Spotify. Does anyone have one of those invite thingys?
stand by your inbox
(Actually - I can't send you a message because of your settings)
Please send me a message and I'll send you one
On wife's computer so dont have spotify but
please let me know if this is on here
it is
I added it again. daddyorchipsblog had added it, but the track added was from their hard drive. I've done that several times when adding tracks to collaborative playlists and it is hard to spot.
Gordon Lightfoot - Circle of Steel
