Help recognising music

ainsley009's picture

I hope this is an acceptable use of the Massive forum, but it's really doing my head in and NOTHING seems to be able to help find this piece of music.

Anybody recognise this ?

Shazam doesn't work on it and I can't find it anywhere else.

Help appreciated.

PS : the background noises are because it's from Masterchef !

The background noises add to it don't they?

I'm forming the image of a rhythm section of chefs, grating, chopping, hammering and food processing up a storm of a backing track.

I can't identify the piece, but in case it helps, the fact that it is exactly the same over and over suggests that it could be a short clip from a song, infinitely looped. That would mean you're looking for a song with just a single occurence of that single bar.

If we do think this is acceptable use of the Word Blog - I do - I've got one too.

Acceptable use?

Who gets to decide, then?

Anyway, I would think seeking help to identify bits of music was exactly what this blog could do...

Course it's acceptable!

Come on, let's have some more musical stumpers then.

Wish I knew what the Masterchef track was, it's insanely catchy.

Weeknights aren't the same without John and Gregg bellowing...

My Musical Stumper

It's sat here on my PC ready to go. Can anyone tell me how to put it up here like the clip above? I can post it one of my websites if that's a required part of the process.

Best bet

Post it at Divshare. They'll give you the code needed to embed the clip on another website (like this one, for instance).

It is, isn't it. Hopefully

It is, isn't it. Hopefully the whole thing will be as good, although at the moment it's looking unlikely I'm going to find it

Looping

Apologies, I should probably have explained, the loop (which is about half way through the clip) is my own edit, trying desperately to get enough of the track for Shazam to pick it up. Which failed.

It sounds a bit like

a Girls Aloud track. A bit like Sexy No No No. It isn't that but if you were to post it here =
http://www.popjustice.com/forum/index.php these guys might have a better idea.

I'm sure it's some sort of 12-inch disco remix

of something. It sounds a bit Top Gear test drive for my liking.

Not just Rob Dougan

Top Gear use a fair variety of music (or at least they did the last time I saw it). There's even a forum thread devoted to cataloguing every tune they play here.

Alas I couldn't find a similar site devoted to Masterchef.

Also, I do like Rob Dougan's stuff very much but his music was a tad over-exposed for a while.

Top Gear?

I thought they only featured Greenslade.

Sounds a bit like MSTRKRFT to me

but I've just had a quick 'scan' through the album tracks and couldn't spot it from the intros, so maybe not.

Not sure if that's helpful or not!

Just had a proper listen during my lunch hour

and now I am pretty sure it is not MSTRKRFT - sorry!

It isn't, but wouldn't it be good as...

... an extended outro of Patrick Hernandez's "Born To Be Alive", as it has the same tempo, beat and feel?

I recently rediscovered this song, and thought it quite good, but I've just seen this video, which put me off it again.
