Interesting to note that the Tom Waits track was the focus of a campaign to grab the Christmas No. 1 in Ireland last year (or the year before?) long before RATM and Simon Cowell became intricately linked.
Alas, we managed to get it to the dizzying heights of 27 or somesuch.
Lessons learned; if you insist on hyping something into the charts, choose something which has at least a vague chance of appealing to the masses. RATM was a perfect choice. Tom Waits, not so much....
