Vampire Weekend
Still on my turntable (so to speak)
Half time scores
Elbow...more power to them. Plus Spiritualized, Pete Molinari and Fleet Foxes.
Half Times
Elbow
Chris Difford
Both fantastic I reckon. Lyrics to die for.
Goldfrapp
Seventh Tree still satisfies
Ooh
Dig mostly:
Portishead - Third
Goldfrapp - Seventh Tree
Elbow - Seldom Seen Kid
Dig a fair bit:
Last Shadow Monkey Puppets - Age Of The Understatement
Blood Everywhere - Pop Up
Duffy - Rockferry (mainly because t'other half plays it a lot)
MGMT - Oracular Spectacular
Dig in general:
Bon Iver - For Emma Forever Ago
(like it LOTS, but not remembering any of it in the shower)
Neon Neon - Stainless Style
Hercules & Love Affair (they get single of the year anyway)
Weezer - Village People album
Wh'appen?:
The Feeling
(I loved the first, and various tunes knocked around my head for an age, but nothing has stuck this time around)
Album played most but not technically released that year:
Radiohead - In Rainbows
Justice
Looking forward to:
Annie
Primal Scream
Heck
my memory is so bad, I can scarcely remember albums I bought three weeks ago. But this year I have been sucuumbing to the serried delights of: Bob Mould's newie; My Morning Jacket's vastly underrated new one' Spiritualized's A and E; another tip to Elbow and REM's return to form.
It's the ladies round here
My three favourites are:
Kathleen Edwards - Asking for flowers
Eileen Rose - At our tables
Tift Merritt - Another country
plus MrsP's choices of:
Duffy - Rockferry
while the only man to show is Van. She's very keen on Keep it simple.
21 nil
to Mr Weller I am thinking, with his '22 Songs' - it's an embarassment of riches one might say. He even makes a jazz noise here and there, pointless noodler that he is.
a watershed year
kd lang "watershed" is still working its magic.
Stars "In our bedrooms after the war" is interesting
Elbow's is starting to grow (must see a doctor)
I'm still trying to puzzle out Burial.
Two oldies that i cant get enough of that i've bought
Supersession" Bloomfield, Kooper and Stills very interested inMike Bloomfield's output any recommendations out there??
"A Hard Road"-John Mayall, I first bought "Blues From Laurel Canyon" which I found tedious but hit the jackpot with "Hard Road" some top Peter Green if anyone is interested.
