Hail Rob Fitzpatrick!

Can I just take a minute to salute Rob Fitzpatrick on his recent work. I had come across Rob's writing occasionally before WORD but never especially singled him out. However following his triumphant "Rush Pig" article (Which brought back fond memories of my own denim waistcoat with " Rush" stitched in wool on one lapel) I have lapped up his work. In particular the Madness piece last month and this month's article on the monoculture as discussed in the podcast have both been excellent. Good Work Sir!

Agreed on this month's article...
... which for me was the hidden "nugget" of the issue (though I liked the "Bands Only You Like" piece too.) Expressed exactly what I'd been thinking for the past few years, and of course far better than I ever could...
The 'Rush pig article' was a masterpiece...
and indirectly led to my buying a Rush album again, having sold the lot of them yonks ago. Last night I was blasting 'Tom Sawyer' from my speakers and revelling in their magnificent preposterousness.
