You might have missed this, in all the excitement of Coldplay & Radiohead.
Best Musical Album For Children
Here Come The 123s - They Might Be Giants [Disney Sound]
The follow up to one of my faves - Here Come The ABCs
Thanks to Spotify you can see what all the fuss is about.

P.S. Why oh why does the Brits not have a Best Polka Album category?

Where do they make balloons?
Also worth hearing with a childlike ear is They Might Be Giants' album "No!", which includes the very pleasant "Where do they make balloons?":
TMBG seem to be Disney's songsmiths
Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and Higglytown Heroes feature their tunes.
They should be careful though, The mighty Wiggles are snapping at their heels. They are now part of the Disney empire and they have an impressive body of work to draw on, particularly their early stuff. If it wasn't for Anthony's eating disorder and Jeff's narcolepsy, they would have taken over already.
Nah!
Long way to go to beat the Genesis cartel.
Phil Collins - Tarzan, Brother Bear
Peter Gabriel - Wall-E
Mike Rutherford - Mulan 5:The Punk Wars
Junior spotify list
I now have a little boy, he's two weeks old and when him and his mum were asleep during my paternity leave and Diagnosis Murder wasn't on I set about compiling a spotify playlist for him. I tested it out on him and he likes Randy Newman, Paul Simon, the Lion Sleeps Tonight and some Italian song called Monkey Joe from a film I've never heard of. He also likes Brother Iz's brilliant Wonderful World/Over the Rainbow medley but alas the one that comes up on Spotify is a weird calypso'd up version.
Anyway I thought I'd start a Word children's playlist, I've put a few starters in there - knock yourself out.

"Y'know, for the kids..."
Great idea for a playlist, Niks. I've added a load of songs - apologies for any that make you cringe. So many great songs still not on Spotify...
great album
my teeny daughter and I often cheer up a drive with "Here come the 123s". "Here come the ABCs" is good but not as pleasing IMHO.
here's another word-friendly-spotify-kiddy playlist:
