Just had one of those "You're getting old, mate!" moments.
For some reason, listening to Word podcast 117 brought this video to mind. It stopped me in my tracks 22 years ago, when I saw it on the Chart Show, and it stopped me in my tracks today precisely because it was 22 years ago that I first saw it:

I remember seeing it on the Chart Show on C4 and wondering what the hell it was I was watching. It was..odd, but catchy and the shouty chorus just stayed with you.

Based on what you have said, I am guessing it's Rick Astley.

I love that song. When I first heard it i didn't stop playing it for ages. It was especially interesting at the time when it came out. It was very different.
