Good Treadmill Music
Posted by plumb1909 on 20 January 2010 - 9:39pm.
I've recently purchased a treadmill to lose some my middle-age pudding, and was wondering if the massive knew any albums that perfectly compliment this exercise regime.
Chris Evans mentioned this morning, that he exercises to Abbey Road and i've tried it tonight and found it to be the best so far -
unless you know better...

I've given up on the gym...
But Goldfrapp always did it for me... a bit of 'Strict Machine'
Something which hurts your ears, maybe?
Black metal or whatever, to take away your attention from your aching legs and chest!
Spencer Davis group
Keep on running?
Something muscular
Has to be slow n heavy
My fave one is definitely Badmotorfinger (Soundgarden)
Danzig might also suit as well as any early Black Sabbath inspired record
Tbh never thought Abbey Road as something to exercise to (The Beatles weren't really a "physical n muscular" band, were they?)
Hello!
I was asking about a specific kind of music for this, but in case it's any help - everyone told me about loads of great stuff...

thanks for that link
really useful - tried Beck's modern guilt & the information which work well - tomorrow it's Propellerheads if i can find it - my filing system seems to have gone adrift.
Ac/DC
Slade, Mud...all good. Avoid Flintlock.
Yes
AC/DC is the name of the game. Most songs at a similar, consistent tempo, driving bass and drums, and a certain 'can't get me down' feel to them - ideal for running...
Metronomic music
Like Kraftwerk's long songs - particularly Europe Endless.
But these days I find that podcasts from Word, Danny Baker and Fighting Talk distract me from the pain very effectively.
I'm always updating my treadmill music
...but i've always got a couple of Cramps tracks on there (I don't think Lux would approve) The Yeah Yeah Yeahs and i've had Gamma Ray by Beck on there for about a year ,it is the perfect song to run to.
Anything upbeat or a bit raucous and garagey like The Stooges or XTRMNTR Primal Scream is good.
I've found that Radiohead are not the best choice , you just want to stop and have a sit down.
Treadmill music?
it simply has to be OK Go.
This guy seems to
have found some treadmill music to suit his style...

Slightly off topic, but...
many years ago I worked in a branch of Our Price. One day a very bossy and somewhat unpleasant German woman came in who told me she was looking for music for an aerobics class for pensioners that she ran in her home town. I suggested several albums which didn't meet with her approval. So I finally showed her No Remorse by Motörhead and said that it would be perfect. She bought it. I chuckled to myself.
Six months later she came back into the shop and told me that the pensioners had loved it.
Yo la tengo
Pass the Hatchett I think I'm godkind.
10 minutes at just the right sort of pace for me.
