"Danny Baker has revealed that his treatment for cancer is going "very well".

The 53-year-old was diagnosed with the disease around October last year, and has recently undergone successful chemotherapy.

His spokesperson has now confirmed that Baker is "full of beans" and looking to get back to work in "a couple of months or so", reports The Mirror.

The rep said: "He has just started radiotherapy. He is feeling unusual but pretty good. His doctors are really pleased with him and his treatment is going very well indeed.

"He is generally full of beans and is looking forward to being back at work in a couple of months or so."

Christian O'Connell will begin his stint covering for Baker on BBC Radio 5 Live at 9am tomorrow"

Well enough it seems to include

Withnail references - a very good sign.

Get well soon DB, I've got a job for you when you're fit! Unpaid of course...

Good news,

Saturday mornings haven't been the same without him. Disappointed Alan Davies has been replaced with Christian O'Connell though, I have enjoyed his stand-in shows, he made a decent fist of covering for the great man.

whey-hey-hey

I don't know why I feel such a personal connection with the Candyman but my life is richer this evening on hearing that he's on the road back. Any bets as to the first track he will play on his afternoon Radio London programme? I'm going with something by The Dame or The Beatles.
