...as Mark E Smith remarked when asked by the NME in the late 80s what he made of the upcoming talent. So with reference to the recent thread on 'Bands you don't want to get into a fight with', Ladies and Gentlemen, in contrast, I give you...

I don't know
'These Generation X-ers need another Vietnam, that should thin out their ranks a little" - Bart J Simpson
I put it to m'learned colleagues...
...that my three year old daughter could, if moderately riled, knock twenty-two shades of shit out of each and every member of supermimsy shamblebum schmindie shitpoppers The Field Mice with one small chubby arm tied behind her back, blindfolded and drunk.
Exhibit A:
er...
"with one small chubby arm tied behind her back, blindfolded and drunk."
... and how often does your three year old daughter get into this state?
*frantically calls Social Services*
Such a great song.
Man Of Soup has dared me to play this at an open mic night. Alas, I doubt even I am that listless...
But...
I actually like Talulah Gosh, when Indie was actually Indie.
Moderately disturbing..
Is the fact uncovered in the Bands You Wouldn't Want To Mess With thread that Belle and Sebastian's Stuart Murdoch is a bit tasty. Youd've expected him to be the first one to fall over in a swoon at the hesitant wave of a lace-edged hanky.
He is from Glasgow, though, so a certain amount of slack must be cut.
We need some fey, scrawny, arseless, flop-haired southern softy Metropolitan ponces who we can mock until they run away crying and wiping their noses on their slightly-too-long sleeves.
Actually, looking at Bob's photo above, The Field Mice look as if they'd fit the bill admirably. And they've got a smelly gurl in their band. Uuggh. They'll have Girl Germs as well.

This is great!
I'd forgotten how good this was. Sounds like it could have been recorded in the punk era or today - but it probably wouldn't get on the equivalent of TOTP now.
It *is* great.
I really like Eurodisco by them too.
Quite right
Eurodisco is a fantastic record. Still listen to it quite a bit.

Nothing wrong with a bit of gentle, uncluttered pop
I have no time to read this thread....
... as I have to administer a chinese burn on Steven Pastel and make him do my homework.
I'd happily fit in
to any of these bands. I can't imagine me being particularly good in a confrontational situation. As Dylan Moran once said, "I'm not much of a fighter, I'm more of a bleeder."
I'm a TREMENDOUS coward.
Luckily I'm quite big and I look grumpy, so to date, no-one's ever tried to start a fight with me.
I have been punched ONCE
It was by a boy called Henry. He knocked my glasses off.
Orange Juice
I tried to copy in a photo of the early OJ but failed (techno-foolery again) - if anyone can find a suitable one and show it here, you'll see the primal source of all rock weedery made (pale and wan) flesh. Socks with sandals will feature prominently...
