George builds a Wall

stimpy's picture

Dr J's recent post about the Live 8 Floyd reunion prompted me to wonder if anyone knows who's playing on Waters' forthcoming Wall shows.

Does it include the old Waters/Floyd mafia - Snowy White, Wille Wilson, Andy Bown - or has he gone the LA sessioneer route?

Last time

he did The Wall, in Berlin, I thought it was a rather bizarre collection of guest singers who didn't add much to proceedings at all. A bunch of session singers would have been preferable.

I thought the Berlin show was a VERY curious affair

and was baffled by some of the choices of singers.

Whilst it was undoubtedly a great 'occasion', it didn't do much for the charity is was supposed to benefit (a spin-off from Leonard Cheshire).

From neptunepinkfloyd.co.uk

...Dave Kilminster and Snowy White are on guitars and Venice cousins Mark Lennon, Michael Lennon and Kipp Lennon are doing the male backing vocals joined by Jon Joyce.

Roger's son Harry Waters is also joining the band on Keyboards along with Jon Carin.

Graham Broad is on drums and G.E Smith, who has toured with Bob Dylan, is also on guitars. There is also of course a second lead singer taking the parts David Gilmour used to sing called Robbie Wyckoff.

I knew Graham Broad from sessions in the late-70s...

Having just Wikipedia'd him I find he's been in Waters' touring band since 1987!
