Generation Kill on 4
Posted by Uncle Monty on 7 October 2009 - 2:29pm.
It may have escaped your notice (it certainly had mine, at any rate) but Generation Kill is on channel 4 tonight at 11.20pm. Surely a must-watch for Wire-heads?
Did anyone else see it when it was broadcast on that funny cable channel earlier in the year? Is it worth recording?
(By the way, it's right after True Blood which also looks pretty good.) OK, that's enough TV-guidery from me.

Yes,
worth recording. Not quite up to the unattainable standard of The Wire though.
interestingly...
they are linked by an actor, playing one of the US Army officers in the first show, and the kind of Vampire-boss man in the second...
Both shows are good, and well worth watching...Gen Kill has only 7 eps,and True Blood just 13 in series one, making them less life sapping than the traditional 20-odd episodes we seem to be getting used to...
NB: The fact that a familiar face appears in two shows has led to a rough rule of thumb in our house that "if you get one gig on a US TV show, you get at least two..."
exhibit 1: Željko Ivanek (Damages / Heroes / 24)
exhibit 2: Michelle Forbes (Battlestar Galactica / True Blood)
exhibit 3: John Doman aka Rawls (The Wire / Damages)
exhibit 4: Clarke Peters aka Freamon (The Wire / Damages)
I could go on....you might just want to....
And to complete the circle...
Exhibit 5: James Ransone a.k.a. Ziggy Sobotka (The Wire/Generation Kill)
would have missed it,
would have missed it, cheers!!!
Generation Kill
I may well watch it again.
I thought it was good without being great, but the main problem I had, possibly down to the uniforms, was distinguishing a lot of the characters from episode to episode.
I thought it was genius.
Loved it.
True Blood - wasn't so keen - don't like soft porn vampires.
Gen Kill, though - can't recommend highly enough.
get some
loved it
can't wait for 'treme'
Just watched Gen Kill
wasn't blown away by it to be honest will watch another and see if it improves.
