Go below the main list and onto the surprise hits list and you'll find this. How did I miss Dawes. This live performance is sublime, I just love the warm guitar tone on the whole track.
...and I've never heard them before but that track is very reminiscent of Jackson Browne - Pretender/Running on Empty era - right down to the David Lindley-esque lap steel guitar.
I think most of the album reminds me of Jackson Browne, this track is very very much like The Pretender. That's seen by some as a criticism and people have "defended" them but I think it's a compliment. I've got an Emusic download of the album so no sleeve notes but I believe that Mr Browne has some sort of involvement with the band. A sort of foot in the Dawes!
These guys have done back-up duty for both Mr Browne and Robbie Robertson. Their two albums, North Hills and Nothing is wrong, are both well worth checking out.
This is gorgeous

Wow,
Just wow. (but what does the piano melody remind me of? it's something obvious but I'm damned if I can figure it out)
Not sure
