Free Nick Lowe Stuff
Posted by JohnW on 26 September 2011 - 10:58pm.
If you head over to the Nick Lowe website (www.nicklowe.net), instead of the dreary, rarely updated fare you usually get is a link to download a couple of free tracks, one from the new album and an accoustic version of What's So Funny 'Bout Peace Love and Understanding (not sure if it's possible to have enough version of that song).
On top of that there are links to a load of videos of Nick over the years. I'm sure they've all been available elsewhere before but they're nice and easy to find now.. then just one simple click get you to the original dull and boring site.

thanks
Got the new album already, but that What's So Funny acoustic version is beautiful. Worth putting my name on a mailing list for.
Excellent
Be warned that the site crashed on me - a script that would not work, but left a dialogue box constantly asking me if it should run or be disabled.
Nick has also got a new free concert up at NPR http://www.npr.org/2011/09/26/140802115/nick-lowe-live-in-concert
there are a couple of previous ones if you look around.
Same prob
for me.
Same problem
Probably best to avoid the site until they get their act together.
He's always excellent on NPR so that's more of a bonus than the "official" site for me as I already have the "What's So Funny..." track and got his new CD a couple of weeks ago.
Failed in IE9 (probably security related) and worked on Firefox
for what it's worth
Anyone have an idea why
you can't get NL & His Cowboy Outfit, either as a download or as a CD ? Some of the tracks appear on comps, but I'm after the original.
Might be able to help
It's a bit of a pain to do it at the moment, because I'm on holiday, but if you PM me next week I should be able to link you with my CD rip.
Absolutely no idea
why I never bought it on re-release about ten years ago as it's one of his best, IMHO. That doesn't mean it's not available to buy at extortionate prices. Although it's readily available on a certain, ahem, rare mp3 site. I ripped the missing tracks that weren't already available on the compilations from my vinyl copy.
