Free "Lesbian Vampire Killers" Movie on iTunes. Today Only.

LOUDspeaker's picture

FYI. It's free so why not? Click on the 12 Days Of Christmas box on the home page to get it. And when you're at it also get the free song of the week as The Plastiscines are a great semi-competent French girlgroup.

Thanks for the tip

but they should be paying us to take it away. Like the sound of The Plastiscines though.

Problem

- Vampires are now more popular than they've ever been
- Lipstick lesbians are as popular as they've ever been
It speaks volumes about the inverse popularity of Horne and Corden that people still don't want to see this film.

Free = Still overpriced

I've been downloading all the free gifts so far, even the Snow Patrol song. But even if Apple figured out how to download a £20 note which would pop out the back of my iPhone with my digital copy of LVK, I still wouldn't bother.

Is it really that bad?

I have little knowledge of this movie, but am a fan of Gavin & Stacey, so I'm therefore rather shocked at the reception the movie has received.

I had imagined it would be a sort of poor man's "Shaun of the Dead", but from the musings of the massive, I can only assume I am mistaken. It must be awful.

I reckon I'll download it anyway, just to see. I'll report back tomorow. Possibly.

Thanks for the tip, LOUD!

I got the email today

Have resisted any temptation to download. Well, I had no temptation to resist if I'm honest.

Trivial

Not as good as the free trivial pursuit download a few days ago (although we've already encountered a wrong answer!)

Here are most of them

A Snow Patrol Track
Alan Partridges Christmas Show
A JLS Track
Trivial Pursuit
Can't remember what the other one was.

It was...

A Robbie Williams video.

Overall I'm happy with Alan Partridge and Trivial Pursuit is ok. It's a very clear scheme to get all those people who got iPhones and iPod Touches over Christmas used to downloading games, movies, music onto their device. Even though I'm not excited about LVK, it's still a movie and I bet Apple's servers took a hammering today as hundreds of thousands downloaded the 1Gb+ file. According to this http://www.macrumors.com/2009/12/28/app-store-download-statistics-sugges... there was a 1000% increase in online iPod Touch use Orr Christmas.

I watched LVK

It was okay. I enjoyed it for the most part. Corden is funny but Horne is a really flat actor who under-reacts too much at the crazy stuff towards the end.

Can someone explain what happens at the bit when Corden is about to throw the holy water filled condom but then suddenly runs away? Looks like the special effect or something didn't work so it had to be cut leaving an odd gap in the scene.

I can't complain as it was free and harmless enough entertainment. It's not a terrible movie. I chuckled a few times.

Two and a half out of five stars.

Now for the real blasphemy. It’s sort of in the same horror spoof mini-genre as the classic Evil Dead II. I think Evil Dead II is rubbish. I think LVK is better than Evil Dead II.

too long

My pc said it would take 3 hours to download at which point I ignored it...

Big files do take a long time

but they should download in the background, or just let them go overnight, perhaps? In my days of collecting Fall bootlegs off Dimeadozen my Mac would be going 24 hours a day downloading stuff, although I look back at the person doing that and I hardly recognise him. I guess that's having kids for you. Your priorities change. You get less sleep. Sorry, I'm rambling.
