The There's No One Quite Like Grandma Hitmakers return in aid of charity!
That Grandma reached Number One at all was a remarkable achievement because the murder of John Lennon on December 8, 1980 sent sales of his previous songs soaring in charts around the world. Grandma knocked Lennon's (Just Like) Starting Over from the top spot on December 27, giving way to Imagine on January 10, 1981.
"They were all so well-behaved given the excitement of it all. At the Granada Studios we took all 400 pupils and they said we were better behaved than David Essex and his entourage."

She has her own gig
with Sally Lyndsey's St. Winifred's School Choir featuring Sally Lyndsey
I imagine Grandma isn't quite like Grandma anymore...
unless she's about 106.
increasingly possible she's still alive
although hearing the song every year for 25 years may have finished the old girl off.
Bugger
should have read this before posting onto the scariest song thread.....now I just look like an unimaginative plagiarist.
