Festival Flags

Seems all those that had problems actually seeing the artists at Glasto this year wont have the same trouble next year. Good move or "the man" preventing a laff?

Good move

I've never understood the compulsion to bring a flag anyway, is it to make themselves easier to spot on television?

"They want to get on TV - that's the big thing now."

The whole fazzbook thing of being seen to be there is just as annoying. I was "down the front" at a festival the other week, when my view of the beat combo entertaining the crowd from the stage was obscured by a rather hefty team of lads all taking photos of each other in playful poses. So I reported them to the on site security who duly laughed at me, had a word with the lads, who then came after me a gave me a severe kicking. Or something.

I suspect a close correlation

with ownership of a twatty jester's hat.

"Cracking Down On Crowd Surfing"

Let's hope they haven't booked Monotonix

I do hope

they stop all the pyramid building nonsense at Neff and Sisters gigs, it was never big and it definitely isn't clever, just old 'trad goths' making a spectacle of themselves and blocking my view.
Plus the stench of male body odour is overpowering, bring back smoking indoors while your at it FFS!

Good riddance

It was clear from the coverage of the glasto main stage, especially for the headliners, that flags are a blight that needs purging. They couldn't do any shots of the whole stage, because it was just a mass of floodlit cloth, not a band / lightshow.

Though they should keep the comedy items. Like the duck on a stick / massive picture of a German shepherd I saw this year. They're much better than a massive banner saying "Hello Mum". No one needs to see that.

Literally nobody

Wants to look at the arse end of a flag when they're trying to watch a band.
