Feral rats? Scum? Victorian values? Know what they're doing?

Oliver

I hope nobody who has lost their home or livelihood in the riots comes on here and sees you making this risible comparison.

Do you have to be so pompous?

Have you ever read Dickens? All I'm doing is pointing out that things were ever thus. Was Oliver Twist 'scum' or a young lad from unfortunate circumstances? Ok, it's fiction but rooted in a reality that you and your Mumford & Sons set will evidently never understand.

Dickens

Please. The poor of 21st century Britain live in conditions that anyone from Dickens' era would regard as luxury. The welfare state allows that nobody but an unfortunate few (the homeless, for instance) be denied food, shelter or even Blackberry Messenger.

Fair enough.

I apologise and will let it lie.

Feral rats? Scum?

If a stranger did this to you for no known reason, what would you call them?
