Faces to reform

Richie B's picture

I'm really not sure about this...

Glen Matlock on bass BTW.

I am sure

and it's not The Faces.

Was Tetsu Yamauchi not available for the bass spot? Then Paul Rodgers could take the vocals for a Free/Faces tribute band.

I am quite prepared to admit to liking Hucknall's Bobby Bland tribute a year or so back, but as lead singer with the Faces ... ? I'll give it a miss.

Stay With Me

I was at Rod's (fantastic) gig in Brum on Saturday night. Halfway through, he says "Here's one Mick Hucknall didn't write." and the opening riff to 'Stay With Me' thundered out. Rod never sounded better and the band fair ripped the shit out it. Absoultely made my night. Sorry, but The Faces without Rod doesn't work (I'd feel the same about them without Ronnie as well.)

Rod...

Decided not to get back with the Faces so that he could continue his descent into "standards" territory. It's his loss.

Since Bono is indisposed at the moment

(and I for one wish him a speedy recovery) why not get Rod to take up the temporary vacancy in U2 while the Huckster does the Faces gig?

Without Rod

its a non starter.

I'm hoping the reason that Rod doesn't want to do it is not down to his lucrative murdering standards career but that the Faces w\o Ronnie Lane wasn't really the Faces either
